Pretty decent little park. It has no flow and the ramps are very old school and out of date. However, this is the primary skatepark I go to, and with at least 15 in an mile radius I think it's worth explaining why.
Like I said, the park has no flow. Box here, flat rail there, miniramp here, it doesn't have the polish and finesse that newer parks like the downtown park have. But what that means is that even if it's crowded, you're not getting in anyone's way. For example if you want to practice grinds on the flatbar and there's 5 other people also trying to do that, it's no big deal because there's nothing that flows with the flatbar, so each person's turn is maybe 10 seconds long. What this means is that this is an excellent park for honing your skills and learning how to use various obstacles. At other parks sometimes a really good skater can turn the whole park into a line for his Instagram videos, so you're constantly on edge and looking around at everyone else.
I love this park because I get to skate as much as possible and feel like my progression is faster here than other parks...
Read moreAnother skate park suffering from neglect. Could be a good skate park for practicing ramps and half-pipe, but the metal sheets on the bottom of the ramps/half-pipe are almost an inch off the ground in some places, making for a dangerous situation if you wheels get caught up on them. The park isn'the smallest I've seen, but it's not very large either; especially if you take the half-pipe and some of the ramps out of the list of options. Instead of coming here, drive the extra ~5 miles and go to St....
Read moreWorst skatepark I’ve ever been to. Every single transition has holes, or random bumps of concrete. There’s cracks everywhere, every single obstacle is extremely janky and built half assed with holes and bulges on the concrete. The metal plates at the bottom of the transitions are all messed up. Skatepark seems like it was built low budget by someone who did not care at all...
