The service left little to be desired.
The bagel was not all that good;
1 - Toasted Buttered Bagel cost $3.48
More on my experience and why I gave them a 1*.
After ordering my bagel, I was given a buzzer to wait for my bagel to be completed, this was a great thing because there were no legitimate parking spots.
I left a tip prior to picking up my Bagel, and returned to my car. Upon returning to pick up my bagel, I was treated like with discourtesy.
While other customers had their orders bagged up in a brown paper bag, with their name(s) & napkins to go or to stay; my order was just placed on the counter unbagged. It came wrapped in 2 sheets of wax paper and a tape that wouldn't keep the wrap closed, along with an order slip with my name taped to it.
I was not treated similarly to other customers who were present. I was offered no napkins, and no paper bag.
I rushed to my car, and when I realized I had no bag or napkin, I went back to the store and asked the cashier for a bag and napkins. The same Cashier I ordered from earlier, pulled a passive aggressive move on me and said sure but continued to take another customers order and make me wait for another what felt like 3-4 minutes...
The fact that there was no parking spaces available & I was not in a real parking spot made matters worse.
In an attempt to avoid being ticketed for illegally parking, I asked one of her peers who approached the front with a newly completed order; for another customer; that was bagged up; for some napkins and a brown paper bag. He said sure and immediately began to get what I requested, and the passive aggressive cashier then jumped in and said, "I'm going to get it for her."
I told her, "No you weren't. You just wanted to make me wait...."
I was finally provided a brown paper & napkins and quickly left before I would get a ticket for illegally parking....
This Bagel spot was overated, over priced, and the cashier and the person who prepared my bagel made me feel unwelcomed and unappreciated as a customer.
Over all, with the exception of my interaction with the young man who agreed to help me get a bag and napkins, the service sucked.
I went back in while preparing this thorough review to get a full appreciation of the seating areas, bathroom, since at a glance the spot looked eclectic.
It appears that this Bagel spot would have been a very hip and a cool spot to hang out with some friends, etc... But the way that I was treated took away from the potential of a great atmosphere and created a somewhat hostile environment.
Maybe they were upset that I didn't spend more money at their location, since my tab amounted to $3.48 not including my $1.00 tip.
Maybe they felt I did not leave a large enough tip. But my $1.00 was har earned and was a lot for me at...
Read moreI go to the one on 66th st all the time. Such friendly people there. However today I decided to go to the one on 4th st., why did i do that. I discovered they have a free bagel and cream cheese offer on their site. Signed up and it went to my email stating... Hi ANGIE, Your coupon for a free plain bagel with cream cheese or a donut is ready! Just show this email during checkout to claim your delicious reward.
See you soon! Team St. Pete Bagel Co.
So I brought this in there and tried using it as I paid for my other stuff. Was told it's for plain cream cheese only. No where listed does it say that, however they specify on there a plain bagel. I asked to speak with the manager, as she came over with this "I'm not in the mood look on her face". I explained to her the coupon does not secify plain cream cheese. I wanted their wonderful veggie cream cheese. However she said nothing, in fact looked as if she could care less what I said. Never apologizing or anything, you know the things a manager may say when they will try and rectify the issue. Nothing at all, it blew my mind. She acted as if she didn't need my money or business. I didn't know they were doing so great business wise, that they could care less on loosing a customer or a few. What a shame and if she worked for me, she would be taking some customer service classes and management training classes as well. The girl at the counter actually said, sorry for the confusion. That's nice, however like I told her, "it's not confusion its false advertisement". I guess its Einstein Bagels for...
Read moreCo-workers and I had been debating on best bagels in the area, Clearwater Bagels off SR 60, Stews House of Bagels at Ulmerton Rd/Belcher, or this place. As a transplant from NY, I have always loved bagels. Family would get fresh bagels every Sunday morning for breakfast. Not sure who is writing these reviews but they are not from NY if they think these bagels are as close as you can get.
First thing I noticed was after I placed my order for a simple plain bagel with butter, not toasted, was that it took over 15 minutes to get my order. There were a few people that ordered ahead of me but there were at least 4 employees working behind the counter so not really sure why it took so long. Another poor appearance was an older lady employee was arguing with a younger female employee the entire time that other customers and I were waiting. It was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable standing there waiting for our food while this was taking place.
When I finally received my bagel, it was cold and chewy. I was there in the morning so the bagels should have been fairly warm, even without toasting. When I have gone to Clearwater or Stew's, the bagels have always been fresh, warm with a nice crunch on the outside but not too hard, no matter when I have gone in. This bagel was just not good and there was little to no butter on it.
I will be crossing this place off my list of bagel places and stick to Stew's. Ive never had a bad experience there. Try for...
