Pour and Decor is a wonderful new addition to the breakfast places in Grand Central District. When I first walked through the door my eyes instantly gravitated towards the âdecorâ part and they have arranged everything precisely, eloquently, and beautifully. Their coffee is exceptional, unique, and a good price point. They put a lot of effort into their aesthetic and coffee and could definitely holds its own along side some of the other fantastic places on this road like Bandit. Their service was OK. I walked in and was immediately met with an employee fixing a display who made eye contact but did not smile or greet me. There were about 5 employees, mostly standing around but not necessarily creating a welcoming environment. The cashier was kind but definitely not exceptional service, just OK. I went at 8:30 and maybe they were waiting for their breakfast rush to start. I also ordered an egg sandwich without realizing they donât really have a full kitchen and pop it in a toaster at the bar area- from what I saw. I didnât expect what looked like a pre-made egg patty for $11. I would suggest stopping in for one of their delicious coffees and maybe grab a gift and walking down the street a bit for a fresh egg sandwich for cheaper from Peteâs bagels, Bandit, or Salty Nun. Their toast looked really delicious though. Overall,...
Read moreThis place is aesthetically very well done. You walk in and instantly feel like youâre in a unique place. Weâve lived in the neighborhood for years and are always excited for new businesses coming in. I love the boutique set up and the art gallery is a nice touch. The service at the coffee bar, however, was disappointing. I ordered my go-to coffee, an americano with a splash of milk. The barista told me they could not make it for me, educated me on what an americano was (in a rather rude way), and told me she would make me a latte instead. I politely said no thank you as that had too much milk in it. She proceeded to tell me she would not make the americano with milk so I ordered a cold brew with milk instead. She rolled her eyes at me when I didnât now where to tap my card to pay because it wasnât where I thought it would be. The whole interaction left such a sour taste in my mouth that I havenât been back. There werenât many people in the place at the time, but the lady behind me received much warmer service. If youâre in the area I would recommend Black Crow Coffee, St. Pete Bagel, or Bandit for your coffee/service experience. However, if youâre looking to do some shopping for cute gifts or decor, I would check this place out along with a neighborhood...
Read moreI do have some suggestions: change the doorknobs on the bathroom to make them say if someone is using the restroom. The restrooms are quite elegant, so I haven't quite figured out the deal with the paper towel holder. When does it stop giving paper? How do I rip the paper? So many questions make more tables have access to outlets. I appreciate there being wifi, which suggests the owner is kind and wants to encourage a working atmosphere, and to further add to this goal, outlets would allow for longer stays and shows people are welcome to use this shop as their work space. have a cart for dropping off cups like Bad Mother does. I feel so sloppy leaving my cup at the table. I don't want to add to the Batista's already busy jobs. Bad Mother is a good example of what I'm suggesting. I'm surprised the gift shop gets its own cashier. It seems like a lot of money being invested into making the gift shop easily accessible to check out at when there usually is not a long line for the coffee for much of the day. No one would blame the coffee shop for only staffing the gift shop when the coffee...
