Corbin's Confections — Restaurant in Salem

When I first heard that my lifelong hero—former leader of the Labour Party and all-around legend—had turned his talents to the world of baking, I knew I had to find this place. After hours of dedicated Google Maps detective work, I finally pinpointed the location of Corbin’s Confections, and without a moment’s hesitation, I booked my flight from the UK.

I have now been stationed outside for eight days, camped out in a lean-to by the recycling skip in the car park opposite, hoping for just a fleeting glimpse of the great man himself. The anticipation is electric. Every time the door swings open, my heart leaps, but so far, no luck.

That said, I did venture inside once, and I can confirm that the cakes are truly something special. I had an amazing thing, a pepperoni roll carrot cake cupcake brownie Sammie pumpkin pillow, (as recommended by a previous poster) and it was nice. Very nice. If this is the kind of vision and passion Jeremy brings to baking, then I can only assume that every single item on the menu is a masterpiece.

I am so glad I discover this little gem of a bakery. Corbin is a dedicated bakery free of all gluten and nuts. They will even adapt to a vegan item when requested.

I have tried so many items it is almost too much to list. Cinnamon Rolls, cupcakes, doughnuts and blueberry pie is just a few of the sweets. The biscuits are as large as a Grand Biscuit and oh so fluffy and tasty too. I have ordered Cinnamon Raisin Bread, Rosemary Bread and just recently Sourdough bread that all equally out of this world. I have even purchase sub rolls and even pizza crusts too.

I can go on and on telling you all the items I have recently bought over these past few months, yes I feel like a child in a candy store. I understand the time that it takes to create with these special treats with restrictions for all of us that are in need of it. Now if you are looking for that special treat take the time and call them ahead on a Monday or Tuesday. Your treats will be ready when the doors are open on Friday and Saturday. I feel very confident and safe to eat anything from this dedicated bakery.

Update: I've been coming here regularly for 2 years and I still love it. Everyone in the bakery is so sweet and kind. They remember my allergies and give great recommendations about new items in the bake case. The bread here is *chef's kiss *. Brown, multi-grain, Rosemary....they are all delicious. No matter how rough my day is, once I get a loaf from Corbin's it all starts to turn around. Driving home while inhaling the scent of fresh-baked bread is an instant mood-lifter, and once you cut yourself a still-warm slice with a little slab of butter and take a bite, all is right with the world. I've read about this bakery before but didn't have a chance to visit until recently. I walked in and randomly picked a few items from the bake case. I have to say, I really liked everything I tried but the cinnamon rolls and scones were particularly mind blowing. I think this is the first time I've ever had a GOOD gf cinnamon roll that didn't have the consistency of cardboard. The staff was super nice as well.
