THIS WAS A 5 āļø place a 1.5 Yrs ago! My GO TO FOR EVERYTHING!!! Now since thereās been NEW OWNERS itās TERRIBLE!! Idk what is going on but if letās say a person of India is going to invest in a take out place, then why would you choose italian style take out, UNLESS YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH IT of course. Which sadly these people Do not Have! Ive tried multiple times to Understand and support them in their dreams of running a successful BUSINESS and having the American dream, but with little success. The straw that broke my back was when I ordered my go2 chicken cutlet calzone, I ordered it as usual, was eating it as I felt a hair in my mouth, I went to pull it PRAYING it was just mozzarella cheese, but no, a long blondish hair came out still attached to the chess and chicken I was chewing, THE HAIR WAS BAKED INTO THE CALZONE! It didnāt just fall on-top, it was in there!š¤¢š¤® I also have short brown hair, Like VERY SHORT. When I called flipping out and asking WHY THE COOK DOESNT WEAR A HAIR NET, they put me on hold for 3-5 minutes then the owner picked up and said āSorry sir, but we take all the necessary health code precautions hereā thatās when I said ā LISTEN UP, I have a 8 inch long medium BLONDE hair in my hand right now, SO IF YOU HAVE A PERSON MAKING CALZONES WITH THE SAME HAIR, YOU BETTER APOLOGIZE AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OR ILL HIRE THE BEST LAWYER ALIVE, Give him this hair to run a DNA TEST ON AND IF THIS PERSON EVER WORKED FOR YOU, I WILL OWN YOUR RESTAURANT! To which he pauses, then apologized and asked if I wanted a new calzone or money back? I said I want my money back and they can come get the calzone, minus the hair. They did not come but I got a refund a month later when I filed the complaint with my card. Had this man just apologized at first, Iād have been ok with it, Not order ever again but I can understand an employee not doing what theyāre supposed to. But trying to turn it around on me when I told him the hair color and length, that I got me very upset! Especially with their price increase and charging for every little thing, EVEN MUSTARD ON MY PASTRAMI ONCE!! SMH. DONT BUY FROM THIS LONDIS, Idk...

I ordered 2 roast beef sandwiches and sweet potato fries. BBQ Sauce for both, and cheese on one. This was at 6pm. At 720 I called to see where my food was and they told me it would be here in 5 minutes. Twenty minutes later it arrived, and I tried asking the delivery driver if it was made fresh or an hour and 40 minutes ago. He said they were busy and the cook made all orders at once, so he wasn't sure. He said he'd take it back and when I agreed for a refund he refused. Then he told me it was fresh. I opened the food and the fries are cold and all clumped together. Both sandwiches have cheese instead of one, and they're also cold.
I called the store back and tried to explain what happened and ask if I could get a refund. He argued with me saying the food should be at room temperature. He then, without taking my name or number, told me he would give me good next time. I asked him if he just wanted me to bring it back for a refund and he refused. When I told him about the cheese being incorrect, he said nothing.
I said, so we have a cold incorrect order that was placed AN HOUR AND 40 MINUTES prior to being delivered, and I don't get a refund? He kept making excuses so I said that's fine, I'll be leaving this honest negative review of them everywhere I can, and he told me I'm being rude. Seriously??
THEN he said he told me he has to see how to work a refund through them system. The man lied and was rude. I saps I will never order from them again and hung up.
Listen to the reviews you see.
STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM LONDIS!!!
Every other pizza and sandwich place in Salem is so much better. This isn't even the first time we had problems with our food from Londis, but it is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām not sure what some of these 1 star folks are talking about. This place rocks! Their sister store in Peabody is excellent as well. I am a very busy human with a big family and a local business owner. I have been coming here for years & have not noticed any changes with new ownership. We order take-out from many other places & Londis is a top 3. We leave a comment on most of our items to substitute something or take off, add on, extra or light and they mostly always get it right. We even asked for items to be cooked a certain way. For example, the cheese steak calzone (to die for) we ask for steak to be cooked extra well done before oven and add extra cheese. This drys steak out a smidge and keeps calzone from being soggy. Itās absolutely the best calzone in New England (if cooked this way) and I have tons of friends & family that agree. We also love there sausage peppers and onion calzone. Just ask for mustard on the side. Itās like eating a Fenway SPOS, but 10x better! Their Beefs are hit & miss. I only order the beef if they have rare at the time. The Londis in Peabody are more particular of their beefs. Warmer, fresher, tastier & much bigger than Salem. Iām looking forward to trying the Steaktip calzone with feta onion & tomato š Mmmmmā¦. Trust me, if you like North Shore Style Greek Food then you...
