Monarca Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Salem

Have been here a few times for their lunch/dinner selections - spoiler, their Carne Asada is AMAZING! .. but the fact that we hadn't wrote a review before for Monarca is on us sonwe decided to write one on their breakfast selections!

We got one of their bacon burrito and a chorizo burrito, and got extra potatoes in each one which was an extra $.50 per burrito. These are their smalls - for $5.50 ($6 with potatoes) it was the size of a large burrito everywhere else which was crazy to us! The chorizo was well seasoned and tasty but the bacon burrito was hands down one of the best breakfast burritos we've ever had. The bacon was firm but soft and mashed with the entire burrito - it just sang in your mouth.

Hands down would recommend Monarca for a quick bite - breakfast OR lunch! Give them a try, they'll change the way you think about quick Mexican...

In this are i wanted Mexican food and there was La Hacienda or Monarca. Anuncios Foodie knows that La Hacienda's salsas do not taste authentic. Some of the dishes aren't made entirely from scratch.. I liked it here because it all tasted amazing. Salsas we're spicy, rice was home made, beans are good too and the meat tasted great. The only down fall to this place is that they skimped on the meat. I paid 7.50 for a supreme burrito with very little meat and 3 times the portion of rice. I'm a meat lovers so this was a downer for me. Last Saturday I wanted a breakfast burrito but wasn't familiar with the area, so I looked up where I could find a "breakfast burrito" through a google search. This is the best and hottest breakfast burrito I've had since living in Oregon. The lady said the salsa is not very spicy...but it IS pretty spicy.
