HIGHLY DONT RECOMMEND! Not a good atmosphere. The owner/manager has a realllllllly nasty attitude especially towards young kids. Plus admits- They have a kid magnet fish tank and he will stare and watch your children without blinking … Lots of customers were unhappy.

Responding to your comment below: You just showed your maturity level again. My kids are wonderful children and they were not running back-and-forth. Nice try. There was only one person in there initially. They went to the fish tank twice, then, after you started gawking and staring awkwardly, I told him to sit with me, which they did. One of them had a hard time listening based on their age. Expected - learning children oh my.. The other one did just fine. It’s funny because I don’t eat animals and I haven’t for years but yet you think I would let my children torment fish. They were clearly told to stop and one had a hard time so he wasn’t allowed over there again after he clearly struggled a little/ not vigorously tapping as you say. Weird we both saw different things…. You must’ve had some really bad experiences and I’m sorry for that. I wonder how your relationship is with your children? Wife? if you actually have them? Maybe you should consider that - that will tell you what you need to know, making comments about other peoples children. ;) My children are not devious. He mistook the kitchen door for the bathroom hall, which is right next to it! You don’t grab other peoples children and he simply was looking for the restroom, I was told by the waitress that that’s happened with other people before as well. Isn’t that interesting! Haha! Your a funny guy… which is easy for a child to misunderstand, but according to my waitress, she said adults have done it many times. Go figure - devious adults . I think you have some clear issues that you know you need to work out. Good luck. The waitress even said you always look/act like that. Yikes hope she finds a better job as she was sweet.. and understanding of kids learning.

Best restaurant in town, hands down. I've tried literally almost everywhere you can eat in Salem. Besides dive bars, and who in their right mind eats at one of those anyways?

They are always consistent with the quality of their food and the service they provide. I've eaten here well over 50x, and it has always been so damn delicious.

This isn't one of the those places you have to worry about telling your friend how good it is and you try getting them to go for weeks, and then your friend finally decides to go and they somehow get the backup chef and eat the worst meal of their life. No, not this place. You and whoever you recommend will never leave unhappy. It always has top grade mind blowing food.

Also, they have the best burger in town and the best breakfast burrito. Believe me, I've tried all the rest, and there's no comparison.

*On a side note, Black sheep cafe used to have the highest reviews in all of salem with a 4.9 out of 5. That didn't change because of food quality or service. That changed because people started reviewing this place off of things not related to food or service, They reviewed black sheep off of their personal hate towards others choices and beliefs. Which any business has the right to have and all people should respect.

I have seen this this cafe near my work for a few weeks now and decided I would try it today.

When I entered I could tell it had a vibe I have come to relate to local Oregon businesses, a open, fresh, and inviting feel. I was quickly greeted by a friendly young man in a casual but sharp outfit that perfectly fit the vibe of the cafe.

I was seated and brought ice water while given a chance to look over the menu. Upon his return a few minutes later I inquired what he would suggest from the menu, he offer a handful of good choices but caught my attention when he suggested the Black Sheep Patty Melt.

Having decided on that, I took a minute to use the facilities, though I normally will omit this part of a review the perfection of the cleanliness in the restroom is worth noting. I have only been impressed by this on a few rare occasions in restaurants I have eaten in.

I returned to my seat as my meal was coming out of the kitchen. The patty melt was beautifully made, though the patty itself was cooked closer to a medium rare then the medium I ordered, thus I can not give the full five stars I wish I could. It was nonetheless excellent in both flavor and portion size. I made it out the door with less than a $15 bill including the tip, and a very satisfied lunch experience.

I look forward to returning to try their ribs which, I have been assured by a patron that overheard my request for suggestion, are one of the best in Salem. Hopefully I will be able to raise my review to a full five stars with...
