Shack N Cue — Restaurant in Salem

I have been going to this place for almost a year; I often go with my family members to play pool and have a drink or just hang out and do karaoke. It started out fun last night, my nephew had met with his friend there and my mother, sister, brother-in-law, my best friend (who is a regular) and myself were having a good time. We had food and drinks as we usually do, played numerous games of pool and sang a few songs, my mother had informed Miceala of a puddle of water that was near the slot machines cause she slid on the water, I do not know if it was ever cleaned up. Although at the end of the night my nephew's friend was having trouble with his debit card and he didn't have enough cash to pay his bill. So, what do we do? My family and I chip in what cash we have to help pay his bill; the bartender was given a little too much cash and we expected change back as it was owed to my brother-in-law. The bartender attempted to keep the change and said she was owed a tip as she served us drinks and food. She said besides my nephew she never got a tip from the rest of us, which is not often true. I don't like to tip using my debit card so if and when I have cash, I will give a tip in cash, this time even though myself and my mother were going to provide a tip we found it more urgent to pay the bill than provide a tip. The bartender Miceala then started behaving entitled when we asked for the change to give to my brother-in-law, and said she said she was keeping the change because she was owed a tip as she stated she "slaved and sweated over serving us", the food was not made from scratch, everything came out of boxes or a package and she put them in the oven. This made my mother mad, and she told Miceala to give her the change cause it wasn't our choice to let her keep the change as a tip and expressed we were sorry we couldn't provide a tip as all of our cash went towards the bill. My mother did become a little verbally aggressive and myself and my nephew's friend attempted to separate my mother from Miceala so we weren't banned. Miceala continued to rant about us not leaving a tip for her service. I informed my best friend about the situation, and I told her we weren't coming back. Also at the time, my sister and brother-in-law were playing the slot machines and whenever they would turn in tickets to Miceala she would not provide the cents (at times was up to almost a dollar) of the tickets and only the dollars, after the rest of us had left my sister had called me and told me Miceala still attempted to get the "change/tip" from my brother in law and he doesn't like confrontation so he ended up giving her the $4. A tip is a choice not a requirement when going to an establishment. And we felt paying the bill was more important than providing a tip. None of us will be going back as I really dislike it when people who are already being paid to provide a service want more money when they provide "great service".......being in customer service aren't you already supposed to be providing...

This is not a good place for playing pool. The tables are red speed felt that have not been taken care of at all. There are only 3 tables ( bar boxes) and the layout is not good for the flow of people through the bar. The music leans towards loud rap.... like really loud. Might be a good hangout for some but not for anyone who likes to have a conversation with your drinks. There was only one person working the bar and she was doing a okay job keeping up but it leaves a little something...

It's an okay place to visit once in a while. Me and my family used to love to go here 3 or 4 times a week until they let go kabrina which was definitely the best bartender they ever had, she had great service and would keep a full house since everyone loved her. Now it is pretty boring, they aslo do karaoke now, which either seems to be butt rock or slow moldy music so no luck playing any songs on the jukebox. We visit once in a while because we had a lot of good times before but...
