Jack in the Box — Restaurant in Salem

I pulled up to drive thru and patiently waited my turn to order a sourdough jack meal- no pickle- Xlarge curly fries - choc shake for my friend and I would like a junior bacon jack, 3 stuffed jalapenos for me with ranch and a choc shake as well. The order taker was female and told me , no shakes the machines clean. Ok, 2 Xtra large hi-c punch drinks instead. She kept interrupting me, seemed annoyed with me and must have said "is that all?" A hundred times before she said " you can pull forward now" I could definitely tell they wanted to close.I finally said I guess so, sorry. Then the back door opened and an employee came out and put a sign on the ground behind my car. I'm assuming it said closed because 2 more cars pulled up and the one immediately behind me went and knocked on that back door and said ' they are missing a lot of orders if they close early and I smiled thinking the employees probably had a party to get to as rude as she had been. I looked at my phone and it was 11:42pm and it was starting to rain. When my turn at the window came up, I handed her my card and she walked off and didn't tell me my total or anything, she wasn't missing a beat about loudly talking with someone I will assume was the cook about somebody named "Amanda and how she had told the order taker that she should have been prepared and that people couldn't just walk in the back door and walk around in the kitchen and how she was supposed to have stopped that person and it better not happen again and she said how am I supposed to stop hungry people from coming in here and she looked at me, I asked for my receipt then she handed me my drinks then our food. I asked if there was ranch in the bag for the fries and stuffed jalapenos and she said yes and here's two straws for those drinks too. I said thank you and have a good night. And drove home . When I was getting out of car and picked up the bag I thought oh no this is way too small of a bag to hold 2 burgers, curly fries, jalapenos and ranch. My friend immediately looked up the number to your store and we all tried to call the store because we were missing the curly fries and 2 poppers and I knew I was too tired and hungry to drive all the way back into to town just to meet a locked door and closed restaurant. Date January 3rd 2024. Approximately 9:45pm this occurred. I went through the drive through tonight and when I was asked what I wanted I replied "im going to take a look at the menu " there was a pause and one of the workers said he's lying. I said "no one just said that" he said "ok ok well he's just messing with you " I said ok well im not in the mood to be pranked and especially not when im trying to order food to eat " the worker then proceeded to laugh and say whatever man do you want something to eat or not " after that I asked if there was a manager I could speak with because this isn't ok and still laughing one of the workers said it's there day off there not here right now but would you like to order something. So like most people feed up with the situation I pulled up to the drive through window and sure enough there were 3 to 4 people just standing there making it very clear on what they were doing, messing with me. Again I feel like most people at thus point would have lost it and I did because why? 1. I do not like to be messed with like that and especially when this kind of display of service is happening. 2. As I leave this review I have the feeling that most likely nothing will be done about this and then these guys will just end up laughing it off and them im the joke yeah the punch line, the guy who just wanted to have dinner after work and then this. Great. One of the mest up things about this is that I noticed 2 workers in the background looked completely shocked on how upset I was and I could tell that they had no idea as to what just happened and also one picked up the phone to either call the police on me which I could totally understand because walking into something like that can only leave you with one choice or she was calling here hire up to let them know what was going on so they could cover there butts. I've called corporate and I've left a very detailed message on the matter but again I don't feel like this will really get resolved with any kind of repercussions for these clowns. Update. One month later and I still haven't heard from a Manager or from corporate about this conflict. Terrible experience. Have been getting food at this location for years, never many issues other than long wait times sometimes which is normal for the busy area. This time was a total mess. When I came in to remedy the problem I was treated extremely rudely by the manager. (Wouldnt give her name, no tag. Hispanic female mid 30s curly hair) She immediately told me I was lying (what??) about the situation and that they don't have phones (what??) So I could not have called and told me to "go now". I knew that I had called about the problem, so I could not figure out why she had such a nasty attitude. I at no time was ever rude or discurteous. After I left I did some digging to see why she was claiming they had no phone I realized after checking my phone logs that I had dialed another Salem locations number, as it was the one in my phone's contact list. So she was correct that I had not called the Lancaster location. Nonetheless that does not excuse her brash behavior. She didn't bother to ask me any questions like "are you sure you didn't dial another location?" If she had I would have checked my phone and noticed I had and it would have made resolving the issue so much easier and saved time. Instead she chose to belittle and accuse me without any attempt to get to the bottom of what happened. Nor even a simple apology for the lack of food quality. I am a pretty well dressed male, I am a person of some means. I don't look like a "street" person (not that that should matter anyway) so I can't understand why I was treated like I was some kind of criminal. I'm glad I video recorded most of the interaction, once I became aware of her out of line attitude. I advise everyone to do the same anytime you have a situation like this. In this day and age who knows what people will do or say to you, only to claim something different. Proof is important. I will follow up with Jack corporate etc. we'll see if they are a little bit more...
