Moonlight Pizza & Brewpub — Restaurant in Salida

I honestly debated giving one star, but the place seems to have a cool atmosphere.

I’m assuming this establishment is known for their beverages, rather than pies.

Is this the worst pizza I’ve ever had? Maybe I should give some context.

I’ve been injured and haven’t been able to cook much after surgery.

Last week, I was famished, haven’t eaten in days, and ventured out for Dominos.

I was soo hungry, and as soon as I had gotten home and out of the car, my crutch knocked the box out of my hand. Fresh pizza on the garage floor.

I was so sad. But when you’re hungry you’ll eat anything. So I picked the bits of gravel and dirt out of the pie, trying to salvage what I could.

As I begrudgingly at the garage floor pizza throughout the week, I wondered. Is this the worst pizza ever??

Fast forward to my pizza at Moonlight, and I would GLDADLY go back to my garage floor pizza from dominos.

The flavors were so bland - The crust was chuck- e- cheese, but the mouse honestly had it down better. It was sooo BLEHH

-You know when you go to the fridge, and get excited for leftovers?

Eating this pizza feels like a chore. I was able to get it down with some pizza sauce, but you would think that I had been dared to eat it, by my reaction.

I’ve never left a review like this before. I give praise where it’s deserved,

I’m not sure if this was a an off day, or what, but this was bad. Feel free to prove me wrong , but for $25 … I had to deter anyone who has a love for pizza. This might ruin it.

This brewery is the highlight of our trips to Salida. It always has incredible brews and food. You can order $2 tasters and create your own flight that way. We got six different beers to try and literally each time we tried the next, we exclaimed, “ooo, that’s my favorite!” It was hard deciding which beer we wanted a full glass of because they were all so good. We had the MOONLITE CREAM ALE, SKINNY DIPPER MEXICAN LAGER, STARGAZER HARD SELTZER, PEACH WHEAT, and a Maiboc. All were incredible.

We also did the Sunday food special which was $19.99. It included six wings, two breadsticks, and a medium pizza. We asked two servers if we could make up our own pizza with unlimited toppings or if we had to order one they offer. Both said we could make our own for the same price. Unfortunately, we all learned there is a two topping limit. However, the manager was great and she honored what we were told and adjusted the price to reflect the special. Had we known, we would have been happy to just order two toppings because their pizza is really that great. We appreciate her and our server making it right though. 💚

The great service, the amazing beer, and the flavorful food is what makes Moonlight the best place in Salida!

Oh and if you want a magical combo, get the hot chili chicken wings and their maiboc. The flavor profiles are amazing together!

Best gluten free pizza ever!!!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Moonlight Pizza & Brewpub, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience!
