This was, without a doubt, the worst customer service experience I have ever had the misfortune of enduring. Ever. Regardless of industry (food service, retail, etc.) I do not typically take the time to write reviews for anything, but after our experience, I felt compared to share with the general public. If it were possible, I would be leaving a zero star rating. Here is a a brief overview of our dining experience:
Our group of 12 people arrived at AJs shortly after noon, at which point we were one of only two tables eating in the restaurant. Food and drink orders were placed within 5-10 minutes of being seated. Drink orders took 25 minutes to be received. After 45 minutes, 3 people received their food, one of which was incorrect. Half an hour later, the other 9 received a collection of wrong orders. In total, of the 12 people who ordered food, 10 of them received the wrong food. To be fair, the food tasted satisfactory. All wrong orders were sent back to the kitchen, wherein corrected orders were brought one-by-one over the course of the next half hour. At this point, we had been at the restaurant for over an hour and a half. To reiterate, there was only one other table being served when we arrived. After we finished eating, our group attempted to split the check 3 ways, which--for big groups--is typical and to be expected. The waitress came to our table and had us repeat our orders back to her, which she wrote down and rang up at the register. Upon receiving the 3 bills, every single check contained at least 3 errors. The waitress returned and attempted to correct the errors. Upon receiving the bills a second time, errors were still present. Only after a third set of bills were generated were they finally corrected. At this point, from the time we first requested our checks to the time we received correct bills, it took a full hour. Total dining time was close to 3 hours. We are not "speak to the manager" type of people, however, given the ridiculousness of the situation, we felt it was warranted on this occasion. Upon speaking directly to the manager about everything that went wrong (I should note, we had to go out of our way to find the manager; not once did she visit our table after we voiced our concerns/displeasure to the wait staff), the manager did not feel our miserable experience should be recognized in a tangible way.
In short, we will not be going back. I hope that the owners and managers of AJs will read this and use it as a teaching point to improve their customer service...
Read moreThe service here is ridiculous. When I came in, I had to get my own menus for my family, and the server didn't even acknowledge us, much less come to the table for ten minutes after. When we were finally able to order and get our food, my daughter didn't get what she ordered at all, the crust on my husband's calzone was basically a cracker, and I wasn't given a fork for my salad, apparently I'm supposed to eat it with my fingers. My husband had to go get napkins himself when two of us ordered hand held food, I had to go get my own fork, our server checked on us once during the meal. Once. Even then she didn't come to the table, she hollered from the bar. The chicken on my salad was cold, my husband's calzone crumbled in his hand, and my daughter's fries tasted like every fried food they serve mixed together, the fryer oil hasn't been changed in a while, possibly the last presidential administration. The restaurant was dirty, tables were not cleaned, the staff was highly inattentive, and my husband is now sick less than an hour after eating . . . In a word, this entire experience was disgusting. I'm embarrassed that I brought my family here. Go somewhere else. This was a waste of our hard earned money. Will never...
Read moreI'm not typically one to leave a review but to anyone looking to eat here, please don't make the same mistake I did and go somewhere else. We came on a Sunday around lunch time and it was pretty dead. First thing we notice is that the server and bartender are NOT wearing masks, despite the city and county mandate. We should have left then but we were in a rush, everywhere else was packed with a 30+ min wait, and figured since there were only two other tables it shouldn't be too bad. Drinks took a while to get to us, okay fine, but the food took forever. Another table that got sat well after us got food before us and the table that was there even before we sat down, but it may have just been the kids meals. I couldn't say for sure but either way not a great look. Food was kinda meh anyways so that's reason enough to not go back even if everything else was okay. When I called later and asked a manager about the staff not wearing masks, she was pretty dismissive about it and said its hard to get workers in the first place, let alone get people to wear a mask but she will address it. What? It's their job, I'm pretty sure they could consider wearing a mask part of their uniform, it's really not hard to get your employees to...
