The Garage Automotive Museum — Attraction in Salina

In town for my nephew's graduation for KWU and he informed us about this new muscle car garage mussuem..

The staff was friendly and accommodating. They have a bar station where you can pour yourself a nice cold beer or wine to take with you as you tour the museum. Perfect pairing.

The muscle cars, hot rods and custom cars were in immaculate condition. I appreciated the display signs in front of each car that gives a one paragraph history. The perfect summary size in my opinion.

There's plenty of interactive displays throughout this museum. Touch Screen quizzes complete with visuals. Simulators: A welding, car painting and race car simulator were fun to check out. They had a Boy Scout PInewood Derby track that brought me back to my Junior High School days. There's tons of toy play stations throughout the museum that keeps the kids busy while the parents are exploring. I saw a coloring station, lego station and toy race tracks and garage complete with cars to play with. There was a mini-theater that had an informative muscle car movie playing and a library/reading area to relax and check out some car books.

Great museum in Salina, Kansas! Kid friendly exhibits and automotive art on display for all to enjoy. The museums collection is a great exhibit capturing everything that's great with Midwestern automotive culture. The rotating exhibits planned have promise and should generate return visits. During my visit I was able to experience the feature exhibit in the Corvette. They presented the vehicles history in detail without being overwhelming. I appreciate the museum using locally sourced vehicle examples to complete the exhibit.

The space is well finished and well lit. the gift shop is thoughtful, and I really appreciated the stocking of big and tall sizes for apparel as well to ensure all visitors are able to leave with a momento.

The Garage in Salina Kansas is a must see car museum in downtown Salina Kansas. A year membership for one person is $45 for unlimited visits or $85 for 2 people frpm the same address for one year They change the exibits about 2-3 tomes a year The museum is house in 3 connected buildings on 5th street with easy parkind on the west side off 5th street . Part of the Museum is housed on the former recycle building. Come and visit soon or youbwill miss the cars that are there now l recommend this as a must see in Salina. It takes more than an hour to tour the whole museum and the have a gift store that has excellent t-shirts, coffee mugs,posters ,etc. They also have a snack bar .
