Pasta Mia — Restaurant in Salinas

At the beginning I was impressed with the food and Maria who answered my menu questions. The food was so good that I returned next day and that is when my disappointment started. Our food was not prepared as we asked and when I told Alondra, she treated like it was our mistake when the receipt clearly showed the way we ordered it. I ordered a Lasagna and I noticed there was no soup or salad as it is specified in the menu. I also brought this to her attention and she told me it was my job to let her know in advance with a very condescending tone. This was my second time there but first time ordering this item. I ordered a 16 oz ribeye steak and when I weight it at home I noticed this was only an 8oz ribeye steak. I also brought this to their attention and they the cook said that steaks get that small when cooked. My husband who knows food well knew that he was brushing us off.

I decided to notify the manager who told me we was also the cook, as I informed him of this situation we felt they were not listening to our concerns.

I would always go to this place, but ever since they opened up the spot in the mall it went downhill. I’ve had horrible customer service and I’m not one to speak up. Placed an order at 6:14 for pick up and not once did they tell me it was ready. They called me at 7:01 saying they are closed and if I am going to pick up the food. I drove from Marina to the mall and I explained where I’m coming from and the lady said it’s fine and she’ll wait for me. When I showed up no one was there, kept calling the number and no one would answer. Pasta Mia offers an interesting menu with a touch of spicy sauces for some dishes. I had the large prawn spicy risotto that was delicious. I would certainly order that again. My husband likes their lasagna. My only complaint is that I stood waiting to be seated for a little while without any acknowledgement from the wait staff. There were only 3 tables occupied. There was a party in another part of the restaurant but the wait staff did not appear to be working both rooms. There seemed to be one person for the main dining area.
