Had an early dinner at City Tavern yesterday evening with family. We started with some drinks and appetizers. The mozzarella appetizer was delicious! Not your typical cheese sticks and the marinara tasted homemade. The pretzels with cheese dip come out warm and the dip went perfect together. The mixed drinks were ok. We had an issue with one but it was fixed fairly quickly. The drinks were a decent size for the price also. 3 of us ordered the chicken tenders plate. The tenders were lightly breaded and cooked to the correct temp, the oil seemed fresh and they were juicy and not dried out. 2 of us had broccoli on the side and it was seasoned well and cooked correctly. The fries were ok, nothing special. The onion rings were fresh and made with red onion which was different, but they were over battered. Probably not something I would order again, but they were not bad. 1 person ordered the cheese grits and I tried them and they were very good. My son had a Reuben and said it was one of the better Reubens he has had, and he's a Reuben "connoisseur" lol. We sat at a table by the door, the other tables seemed to be high tops and not usually comfortable to me. We didn't really like the chairs at the table though, they had a "wobbly" feel to them. The service was decent and the young lady who was our server was pleasant. The stars of this meal were the mozzarella appetizer and marinara and the chicken tenders. We will definitely be back and try some more menu items. The prices were also fair for the location and food quality. I only took a pic of my drink and the appetizers. We were hungry by the time the meals come and I...
Read moreSo I usually dine in, once a month because I crave a specific cheeseburger I can only get from here. I feel like a gremlin sometimes because It’s literally the ONLY CHEESEBURGER that satisfies my craving and hunger. I’ll be feeling like a bottomless pit, face all broke out like a teenager, moody, tired, irritable (I think all my girls know what time of the month I’m craving this burger) and this burger makes it all go away (okay so not the acne but it tastes so good you’ll forget it’s there). Anyways I had so many errands today and I was starving but I could only think of THIS BURGER. So I begrudgingly used the website and waited 30 minutes; completely famished. I knew I was risking my favorite burger being ruined forever because let’s face it, to-go in many restaurants after Covid struggled and many still haven’t got it together (Texas Roadhouse 👀👀) I had asked that they separate my bun so that it wouldn’t get soggy on my drive home (I would have ugly cried like Kim k) and they understood the assignment! My food was fresh and hot and exactly as I ordered right at the time they said it would be ready with a “have a nice night sweetheart”. A restaurant after my little gremlin heart ❤️ I’ll be back next month for my usual TFL burger and brussel leaves; hopefully I have time to dine in but if not I know you guys will make sure my burger is just as good when I get it home P.s I’d add a photo but I inhaled...
Read moreToday four of us ordered lunch it took 15 minutes for the waitress to address our table. We ordered an appetizer of artichoke dip that came with in about 10 minutes then we ordered a shrimp po boy a fish taco and two shrimp taco meals after 20 minutes our food finally showed up and we were given three fish tacos no shrimp. We said to the waitress this is wrong she said quote" I heard fish." That was her only solution then we said how long would it take to make the shrimp ones "20 minutes" was her reply with no facial expression whatsoever .The fish was horrible it was lukewarm and had no flavor. It took an hour and 25 minutes for four sandwiches .She never cleared the table didn't address us but once and I suppose because it was two older men, an older woman and a middle age woman she thought perhaps we were lacks in tipping. If she only knew we were all professionals and normally tip 20 to 25% the bill was over $80 and I would have sent the food back but the boys didn't want to complain they ended up leaving $10 on 80 and I wouldn't have left a dime The normal tip would have been perhaps $25 from us. There were 3 waitresses and a bartender. No reason for poor service. I personally will never go back. If this waitress. learned to listen and be pleasant she could do bet ter. She ruined our day. waste of time and $. She appeared to resent having to wait on us, just...
