We'd heard great things about this restaurant but were disappointed. We ordered 2 burritos to go and a large guac. The positives: this restaurant is located in a super cute part of Salisbury and the burritos are a decent size; not large like other burrito restaurants, but enough to make almost 2 meals of it. The guac was a large serving as well. The negatives: the burritos and guac were severely lacking in flavor, but were extremely salty. It's as if the cook was afraid of using spices to flavor the food. Chipotle makes a more flavorful steak than this place. The guac didn't have much onion or other flavor either, except salt. The food was so salty that at one point I tried to add more guac to the burrito in the hope that it would ease the saltiness, but it only made things worse. The tortilla didn't hold up well either. My burrito exploded at the far end and I ended up having to use a fork to eat the filling. The leftover tortilla the next day was extremely mushy and overall gross.
Additionally, even though we ordered 2 burritos to go and picked them up exactly on time, one burrito was cold while the other still warm. The burritos were also not labeled which caused confusion. The last issue that I'm going mention is that they charge $10 for a bag of chips with no smaller options. I don't care how many chips in that order...I don't need chips to feed 20 people with one order of guac. Most authentic Mexican places give a smaller bag of chips for free, which is a good practice since I could pick up a bag of tortilla chips at the grocery store for less than $3.
Overall, while I love the location of this restaurant (hence 3 stars instead of 2), the food was very disappointing. With so many other delicious family owned burrito options (such as Burritos and Ribs in Troutman or Burrito Loco in Mooresville), we will most likely not be returning to...
Read moreWell considering they turned down my hard earned CASH $$$$. They have taken away any option you have to pay in store and order ahead of time. Will NOT take an order over the phone. So to order ahead of your arrival you have to place an order online. Which as you guessed, it does not have an option to pay in store with cash. So as a businessman who is traveling on the road, I like to try and call my orders in ahead of time because I’m very rarely have time to just stop and eat dinner without being on the road. I also run a cash based business which, yup you guessed it pays me mostly with cash so unless I wanted to go sit there for God knows how long because I’ve never been to this restaurant before and have no prior knowledge of its business. So for me, it would’ve been nice to be able to just pay in the store when I got there, but they kept telling me we don’t have that option to take an order over the phone or if you place an order online you have to pay with the card. What kind of sense does that mean? It is 2024 and you won’t take an order on the phone. Is it labor cost you’re trying to save or is it you just can’t find anybody to work the phones it take to go orders? It’s a long story short and I do mean very short because well I didn’t even get to place an order. It would’ve been great to give it a zero because the least I would be able to say yeah I didn’t get a chance to eat there so I don’t know what it’s like instead I have to do one star so there you have it one star crap service and yeah never will try again so much for that idea taco shell here I come. Actual name edited for ethical...
Read morei’ve been holding this review in for a while because i HATE leaving bad reviews on places especially ones i used to adore. but after reading some of everyone else’s stories i feel the need to.
i’ve been going to go burrito for years when i lived in rowan county i frequented it a lot driving 15 mins etc but i moved away a few years ago and my boyfriend decided to treat me to dinner for a special occasion a year ago (it was sometime in the summer of 2023) since i haven’t had it in forever we went here to go burrito fun? cool? right? wrong.
i know for a FACT this place is what got me sick because it was the only thing i ate that day i swear it was i had bad eating issues at the time and refused to eat multiple meals a day… but yall it was really really bad like really bad. it started off with me 💩 myself multiple times in a row, and then it turned into the most vicious vomiting i’ve ever experienced now i have a stomach of STEEL and even when i was pregnant i never puked. but it got me so horrible i was crying, taking as much zofran as i could and it didn’t do shit (ironic), i was literally bound to the toilet seat crying for my boyfriends help pleading for MERCY. i puked 3 freaking times projectile and huge each one i had spinach coming out of my nose. 0/10 experience :/ i paid probably around 30 bucks in burritos just to get sick. incase anyone was wondering what i got: a chicken ranch wrap but instead of lettuce i obviously asked for spinach hence why it was flying out of every hole in my face. shame.
i used to love everything about this place but i just can’t after what happens and it...
