There were only 2 people eating when I arrived waiting on friends for a birthday dinner. Waitress sat me while waiting for them while another waitress asked if I'd like a drink, I said yes. I told the waitress that seated me that my 1 friends order would be on my tab. She told the other waitress and I reiterated that to the actual waitress that take our order, twice. Prices were kinda high but was going to try it. My friend asked the waitress if she could order a child size order for her son and the waitress said yes, of course. The menu stated childsize was $7.95. So she ordered the for her son. Her husband ordered Pollo Cuscinetti it comes with salad and veggies and he also ordered French onion soup & tea. He didn't receive his tea until the food came after asking for it. He never received his salad. We all had to wait for refills on our drinks. Bread basket was empty a while. My friend ordered Pollo Saltimbocca, comes with salad and veggies and she ordered French onion soup as well and tea. She never received her salad either. I ordered the Ravioli and asked if I could get the french onion soup instead of the salad. The waitress said yes, so that is what I did, because this Italian restaurant did not have Italian dressing. (wow!) I should have picked up on that then. Veggies came on plates even though it was not on the menu. The soups came out, it was ok, but the cheese and bread in mine was burnt and put that flavor throughout the entire bowl. Our meals came out 1 by 1. My ravioli came and it looked really bland, the red sauce on it was cold and very sweet it looked like a can of tomatoes were blended with no spices except sugar, and the pasta was warm and rubbery. I asked for Grated cheese and crushed red pepper to try and put some flavor to it. Waitress brought the cheese and said she couldn't find the red pepper... she found it and brought it to me. Keep in mind when I said items were brought to us 1 at a time that was just about everything. We waited again for refills. Keep in mind that there were 3-4 waitresses and only 4 tables taken. We should have never had to wait or ask for anything. We heard the other table that came in after us ask for their salads after they were brought their meals. We asked for the bill after waiting for someone to bring it to us and the waitress asked how many bills and again I told her 2 and then told her which 2 on each. She brought the bills and they were all wrong. We brought them to the register and one of the waitresses tried fixing them but it kept getting messed up. Then she tried to charge full price for the childs meal and after 3 attempts I looked at the prices that we were being charged for the other meals and they were all higher than the menu pricing. The waitres tried to say it was the tax raising the price, but the tax was at the bottom of the bill. Then she said she would give 10% off the kids meal which was priced as an adult meal over menu price. When it should have only been $7.95. After all the attempts she got the owner to come out and try to fix it. He had one of the other waitresses pull up a meal in the register and again the price was higher than the menu (over $1.?? more), and we were charged full price for the soup when the other two adults ordered the salad that was included and didn't get. The waitress never said any price difference for the soup instead of salad. According to the menu the soup was $2.00 more than the salad, but the register had it almost $3.00 more so I should have been upcharged the $2.00 difference. At this point the owner said it's on the house don't worry about it, come back another time. I made it perfectly clear we would not be back and I said no, I appreciate that but no. I just want to pay the correct price for what we ordered. The waitress said that the computer and the menu do not match (no kidding). My friend said just let him comp the meals and tip the waitresses. Of course I said for what? And I walked out, she ended up tipping them. Will not be back. Poor excuse for Italian food!! Check your bill...
Read moreOur family of 5 adults and 4 children decided to dine here before enjoying a night on the Polar Express. We had a reservation and let them know we would be in a slight hurry. It took 15 minutes for us to receive drinks and order. The menu and prices online did not match what was in the restaurant. My husband is a chef, my sister in law is an event coordinator for a large business and I have been in the food and beverage/hospitality industry for over 20 years so we understand good food and good customer service. My husband ordered the lasagna thinking it was a no-brainer at an Italian restaurant. It was burnt and was hardly edible. I ordered the chicken picatta and it was not bad but it came with a side of pasta that was comprised of 3-4 bites. When our bill came our waitress (wish I knew her name) tried to take my husbands plate and asked if he was still working due to the large amount left on his plate. When I responded that it was not good and tasted as if it were burnt and requested she remove it from the bill her response was, "I didn't charge you for kids portions. I will put those back on the bill and take off the lasagna". No apology or empathy. She snatched the bill and brought it back with a higher amount. My father in law paid for the meal and I felt HORRIBLE for having the check returned at a higher price with no apology. This server was nice for the duration of our meal but this response was unprofessional, unnecessary and very surprising. My husband called the restaurant later that evening and talked to 3 different people to complain. They told him they would have someone return the call. It has been 3 days and we have heard nothing. Will never go back to this establishment or recommend it. So...
Read moreOverall I was disappointed ... especially due the overall cost; however, let me first say the food that we ate was very good ... starting with the bread. But, in researching for a place to go out to eat while visiting Salisbury, I searched on the internet and saw pictures of the food and the prices. When we arrived and saw the menu, it was obvious the costs were much higher than what was posted on the internet. When I asked about it, the server apologized and said the website information was four or five years old and then asked if I wanted more bread. We're talking over $6.00 per meal off! Then when the cocktail shrimp came out, they only brought out 5 shrimp versus the picture showing 8. I ordered the veal bela boca (or something like that) ... the menu description said "cutlets" ... plural ... but, I only received one small piece of veal. And, I don't believe the menu said my selected item had mushrooms, but it was covered with them (I don't like mushrooms). The portion size was much smaller than what I would have liked (especially for the cost) BUT, as I said, the food that I did get served was very good ... they know how to cook Italian. There servers were very pleasant but the atmosphere is very loud if you have two large groups (like we did) in such a small location. Would I recommend this place? If you have a smaller appetite, then yes; but, if you're a bigger guy wanting to leave a place feeling full, then either this place isn't for you or you need to eat a lot of bread. It is to their advantage NOT to have their internet menu deleted/updated (they say they can't gain access) ... but, ethically, this is not a good practice for a business...
