So we were excited to go out. Take the grand kids on Tuesday to eat for free. The waitress Adriana was amazing. She sat as took our drink order and served us. We'd ordered an appetizer. Asked for the sampler to be barbecue, not The spicy ones so our kids could eat them. When the sampler arrived, they were the hot wings. I decided not to complain just then. When we ordered our food, it was about 40 minutes until it arrived still. I didn't complain. We were missing a couple of items side of eggs, side of hash brown's toast. Still didn't complain. Then I seen an omelet that my husband was served. He ordered the mile high Denver omelet. We received. It had cut up square pieces of ham about 15 to 20 pieces a sliver of an onion and one sliver of bell Pepper. When I talk to the waitresshe explained that they were cross. Training a cook and I said that's fine, but my husband won't be able to eat this one. It's cold at this point. She said she would talk to the manager. As we were leaving to pay. Who I only assume was the manager loudly said. Is this them to which I replied? Yes, it is us as I was explaining to him, the complaint on the omelet and if he would just possibly take it off. He informed me that. There is no way it didn't have all of the stuff. It should have had because everything is pre. Packaged per each omelet. So I told him to take a look at the omelet still on the table. It had only been cut . At this time my husband Was done listening to his reasonings and the attitude he was showing. So we just paid and left.He did personally tip the waitress because it was none of her fault. Our bill was around 96 dollars. I did gets the kids eat free so we paid about 86 dollars and left...... So from now on I will read the most recent reviews on the restaurant before I go back. Hope someone Can. Look into the training of the cooks and the managers that work the night shifts there. It's the North temple and Redwood road.Denny's that used to be a great dennys years ago. GOOD LUCK TO...
Read moreIf I could rate it a BIG FAT ZERO I would! We came here because we literally live within walking distance and wanted to sit down and have a meal. I’m about 2 months pregnant. As soon as we walked in it smelled so bad like wet clothes and when we were seated the whole booth smelled and felt sticky. Place is unsanitary. Our waitress wasn’t really “there” she seemed lost. She had to ask me what was the “slam burger” and didn’t ask questions that normal Denny’s waiters/waitresses would ask in regards to the meal. We got our food I was so disgusted, there was no taste/seasonings and I got a crepe that was small as can be and definitely not worth the price it was advertised for and no flavor. Didn’t help that my cup for my drink was still dirty and that their ice machine was broken. I couldn’t even finish my food and lost my appetite and so paranoid about something happening with this pregnancy. As we were trying to enjoy our food we overheard a table complaining about the service, how one of the cooks was sleeping at a table and drooling all over and then heading back to the kitchen and how their food was unsatisfactory and then we heard them talking to the cashier about it. After they complained the waitress started actually being nice and checking on us as if that’s what she’s been doing since we got there. I definitely would not recommend coming here and shocked at how they’re still in service. The place was so empty and the host and waitresses were nowhere to be found most the time. I wish I could get a refund because this was just disgusting! We were nice enough not to complain as they had just got chewed out by the other customers, we...
Read moreWhen we arrived at the restaurant, at the end of the lunch rush, there were only two tables with diners (the remainder of the dining area was empty). We placed our order but had still not received our food after 50 minutes.
During that time we were told that the shortorder cook was new. In addition, we heard our server go back to the kitchen and shout, "Do you need any help back here?" We could not make out the response, but our server went to a table where a colleague was seated and said, "He said if you're bored you can go back there." The colleague quickly assured our sever that she was not bored because she was refilling the dispensers that hold the various types of sweeteners.
It was clear that our order was not going to materialize before the arrival of Baby New Year, so we decided to pay for our drinks and leave. If the restaurant had been filled to the rafters, a lengthy wait was understandable, but it was a ghost town when we were there. We went to pay our tab (there was no offer to comp the drinks for the inconvenience), and we heard our sever shout to the cook, "Don't bother cooking the food for table 42!" thus confirming our suspicions that our order had yet to be started.
We offer some observations that might prove helpful. 1) Don't let a new cook fly solo at, what should be, a busy time of the day. 2) Refilling the dispensers with sweetener should not be prioritized over helping a cook who was clearly overwhelmed. 3) Given the glaring lack of patrons, it might be time to consider shutting the...
