When Freddy's first opened in San Angelo, I had several bad experiences in a row, so I wrote this place off. I even left a two star review. In recent years I've noticed they've consistently had a steady stream of business, so I decided to give them another shot. Now I'm hooked.

While I typically prefer a thick meat patty on my burgers, Freddy's take on burgers has won me over - it's all about the crunch. Without being burned, they manage to have two thin but juicy patties, with a little bit of crispy ends on their meat. Usually, this is a bad thing in my book, but the attention to detail and overall consistency of everything creates a perfect little package. The fries are tiny and shoestring-style, but you never really get a fry that's too soggy, too crispy or crunchy, or imperfect in some other way. I don't usually care for fry sauce either but that's a welcome addition here, too. Freddy's has somehow managed to package it all together and stand out from the rest of the fast food crowd. Lettuce and tomatoes don't come on their featured burger by default, but when you add them, they're treated with the same amount of care as the rest of the package: - consistently fresh, crisp, green lettuce, and perfectly ripe, red tomatoes.

To top off the experience, the employees really seem to care. They're always friendly and helpful, and genuinely seem to enjoy their job.

We might have gotten off to a rocky start, but I'm definitely a fan now. If you ever had a bad experience here and didn't come back, give them another try. You might be...

Absolutely the worst service ever!!! During the ordering process we had our Turtle Sunday put on hold. When I went to the counter, I was told that it was being made. I stood there for 5 minutes, I finally got in the line and told her it was paid for but needed my Sunday, "nope, go sit down and wait your turn." I sat for ten minutes, and no Sunday arrived. I finally went to the manager and told him I had waited 20 minutes for my Sunday and they needed help with the ice cream. "We're busy, go sit down!" So hateful I sent my husband up there. He talked to the manager, the cashier, and another employee, no one would give us the time of day and fix the Sunday. I went back to the cashier and said I was ahead of all these people, that I wanted my Sunday, "no you are not ahead!! Go sit down!!" Seriously, in that hour I watched 15 people get their treats, but not us. I went up again, "I paid for my Sunday over an hour ago, and I still have not received it." Again, I was told, she's working on it. I said, "I want you to notice", I showed her the receipt, "I ordered a Sunday, she's working on three concretes, I have been waiting for over an hour." I kid you not, when the girl finally started working on it, an hour later, it took her thirty seconds. This was the rudest bunch of workers I have EVER encountered. Yes, it comes from the top, the manager!!! He was as hateful as the rest...

Usually everyone is nice at this restaurant but today I had an unpleasant encounter with person taking orders in the drive thru. I ordered a burger with no fry sauce and he corrected me saying it was a thousand Island, I said ok I don't want that. He obviously got annoyed bc when I answered his question of will that be all with I'd like a coke, he snapped back with we don't have coke.... And said nothing else so I had to ask ok what do you have he said Pepsi or Dr pepper. I said ok I'll have a Pepsi. I pulled up and he never said a word. Just took my card and handed me the food. When I looked in the bag, part of my order was missing so I asked to speak to a manager. He got my fries but never said hed talk to the kid about his attitude or that he'd take care of it. I watched him after closing the window he just walked away without saying a word to the rude young man working the drive thru. I got home and my order wasn't even right. What a shame people get away with acting like this. Ive worked in customer service my whole life so I know how hard it can be, which is why I am always polite and respectful to anyone serving me. This was...

Aiden (or Hayden my memory is trash I’m so sorry 😭) and Reese just have great energy, as does the entire staff from where I stand on the other side of the counter. I know what it’s like / how difficult it can be to put on a happy face while working in the service industry, and I gotta say these folks here make it feel so much more genuine than I was ever able to feel! This place just has a great vibe that doesn’t feel patronizing and obligatory like driving through Starbucks… Y’all rock, thanks for making me almost cry just from your good vibes 🤙🏻 These concretes are bomb, too! The wifey is absolutely OBSESSED with the new pumpkin concrete 🖤 y’all deserve a raise!!

As a native Chicagoan, I can give this place my official seal of approval in recognition of their impressive execution of the Chicago-style hotdog. But wait, there's more! The burgers and patty melt are delicious as well. Both are grilled to perfection; not too crispy but not overlooked in any area. The burger toppings are simple, fresh, and not overpowering. For those familiar with In and Out burger in CA, this has an element of quality reminiscent of that chain, but without any overt similarity in menu items nor cooking style. Throw frozen custard into the mix and it's game, set, match in the best way. I'm in town for 3 days and I will eat hear at least twice.

Fast food at its best. Freddie's delivers a pretty good double burger . The patties are really thin but that gives it a great kind of crisp and soft texture against the bun. They have plenty of burger options, a few fried chicken and hot dog options as well. They offer a good variety of concrete and shakes. The fries are thin and crispy and well seasoned. You have three sauce options, ketchup, fry sauce or spicy fries sauce. The fry sauce, in my opinion ,taste like a cross between ketchup and mayo. The large size drink(Pepsi products only) is about the size of a regular water bottle. The price is a little on the higher end.
