When Freddy's first opened in San Angelo, I had several bad experiences in a row, so I wrote this place off. I even left a two star review. In recent years I've noticed they've consistently had a steady stream of business, so I decided to give them another shot. Now I'm hooked.
While I typically prefer a thick meat patty on my burgers, Freddy's take on burgers has won me over - it's all about the crunch. Without being burned, they manage to have two thin but juicy patties, with a little bit of crispy ends on their meat. Usually, this is a bad thing in my book, but the attention to detail and overall consistency of everything creates a perfect little package. The fries are tiny and shoestring-style, but you never really get a fry that's too soggy, too crispy or crunchy, or imperfect in some other way. I don't usually care for fry sauce either but that's a welcome addition here, too. Freddy's has somehow managed to package it all together and stand out from the rest of the fast food crowd. Lettuce and tomatoes don't come on their featured burger by default, but when you add them, they're treated with the same amount of care as the rest of the package: - consistently fresh, crisp, green lettuce, and perfectly ripe, red tomatoes.
To top off the experience, the employees really seem to care. They're always friendly and helpful, and genuinely seem to enjoy their job.
We might have gotten off to a rocky start, but I'm definitely a fan now. If you ever had a bad experience here and didn't come back, give them another try. You might be...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst service ever!!! During the ordering process we had our Turtle Sunday put on hold. When I went to the counter, I was told that it was being made. I stood there for 5 minutes, I finally got in the line and told her it was paid for but needed my Sunday, "nope, go sit down and wait your turn." I sat for ten minutes, and no Sunday arrived. I finally went to the manager and told him I had waited 20 minutes for my Sunday and they needed help with the ice cream. "We're busy, go sit down!" So hateful I sent my husband up there. He talked to the manager, the cashier, and another employee, no one would give us the time of day and fix the Sunday. I went back to the cashier and said I was ahead of all these people, that I wanted my Sunday, "no you are not ahead!! Go sit down!!" Seriously, in that hour I watched 15 people get their treats, but not us. I went up again, "I paid for my Sunday over an hour ago, and I still have not received it." Again, I was told, she's working on it. I said, "I want you to notice", I showed her the receipt, "I ordered a Sunday, she's working on three concretes, I have been waiting for over an hour." I kid you not, when the girl finally started working on it, an hour later, it took her thirty seconds. This was the rudest bunch of workers I have EVER encountered. Yes, it comes from the top, the manager!!! He was as hateful as the rest...
Read moreUsually everyone is nice at this restaurant but today I had an unpleasant encounter with person taking orders in the drive thru. I ordered a burger with no fry sauce and he corrected me saying it was a thousand Island, I said ok I don't want that. He obviously got annoyed bc when I answered his question of will that be all with I'd like a coke, he snapped back with we don't have coke.... And said nothing else so I had to ask ok what do you have he said Pepsi or Dr pepper. I said ok I'll have a Pepsi. I pulled up and he never said a word. Just took my card and handed me the food. When I looked in the bag, part of my order was missing so I asked to speak to a manager. He got my fries but never said hed talk to the kid about his attitude or that he'd take care of it. I watched him after closing the window he just walked away without saying a word to the rude young man working the drive thru. I got home and my order wasn't even right. What a shame people get away with acting like this. Ive worked in customer service my whole life so I know how hard it can be, which is why I am always polite and respectful to anyone serving me. This was...
