I am keeping in mind that COVID has a big impact on how many establishments conduct business. I feel that my experiences had nothing to do with COVID. My first time at Cotton Patch was about 6 weeks ago with my mother. I ordered the vegetable plate and was served, what looked like, 4 bowls of vegetables that were spooned out of the can and into the microwave and then onto the plate. My mother had fish and chips and said that they were, edible, but unremarkable. The price, although high, was not much off the average for a meal for two at a sit down eatery in this area.
My second visit was a week later with a friend. I just wanted some down home country food and I always give an establishment 3 tries prior to writing a review. The food was filling, but unremarkable. We were able to have a good conversation, the ambiance was inviting for a meet and greet and not too loud for a few good friends to talk a while. Again, the price for two lunches and tea was about $23.00, which is average for this area.
My third and final visit to Cotton Patch Cafe was when the ladies in my office and I decided to order for lunch. We got a Country Fried Steak Dinner with mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. They put no gravy on the steak or potatoes. We also ordered a Chicken Fried Chicken Sandwich with lettuce. The lettuce was, literally, quadruple the size of the sandwich and black with heat burn. The sandwich did not have cheese as I had ordered. I had also ordered fries with a side of gravy and received both, but passed the gravy onto a my co-worker, because what is CFS without gravy. The last part of the order was a sweet tea. it was not delivered. The entire order for both meals and delivery was $40.00. (Expensive in my book) I contacted Cotton Patch to let them know about the issue with the third and final visit and was told that they would compensate the error with an email coupon for two dinners at their expense. I didn't ask for that as a resolution, it was offered to me.
That was 2 weeks ago. I have not received the email and I refuse to put in the leg work to wrong their right. I will just add that it would not surprise me, in the least, to see this location fold as they do not seem to care about their reputation.
I can not, in good conscience, recommend this location for any form of...
Read moreAfter a rocky start with CPC where things weren't quite right a time or two... I contacted the restaurant and received an email from Casey the manager the next morning to rectify the situation. The same day I made another order of the exact same thing via doordash and the same issue happened again... at which time I reached out to the manager again...not to yell or be angry but to make her aware that the same issue was not a 1 off problem... it happened 2 days in a row. Again Casey personally contacted me to apologize and offered me another complimentary meal for 2. Dine in or take out on both meals. And gave me the impression she wanted me to dine in for 1 of the meals... which I have not had the opportunity to do as of yet... but I did call and made a take out order and spoke directly to her to do so. And when I say the take out order was beyond great... I mean it! Great care was given to make sure I had all my fixens for the loaded potatoes and the steak was cooked to perfection. Casey greeted me upon arrival and made sure I had rolls and my ice cream for the desserts. If I could give more than 5 stars for my last interaction I definitely would... and Casey deserves 5 stars everyday... for her professional yet genuinely concerned handling of the original problems on the first 2 orders. It would have been easy to get on doordash and bash the restaurant which is generally where most reviews come from.... instead I felt it more important to bring it to her attention as a learning opportunity for her staff to fix the problem. I can say 100% that Casey is definitely a problem solver and kudos to her. I'll come back and update after my dine in experience and I have high expectations and believe it will be just as great! A big shout out to Casey and her staff for acknowledging and taking accountability and making it right. Excellence starts there!!! Go check out Cotton Patch Cafe if you're in San Angelo.... tell Casey...
Read moreCame in on Sunday @1:35pm for the turkey and dressing our server had to ask if they where out of the daily special! When our server told the GM Alfredo San Miguel he just stood there and never came to our table to see or hear our complaints. 1st our fried pickles where clumped together and Dowie When we broke them apart the mushrooms didn’t look like they where properly washed and tasted like dirt... we told our server that and still no manager ! My daughter ordered the steak medium well and double side of broccoli instead of getting it she got a medium rare steak and 1 side of broccoli. My wife ordered the meatloaf and it was warm to the touch and cold in the center . We advised our server and still methier the kitchen manger nor GM Alfredo San Miguel came to our table .. the server was apologetic but we paid for our meal left the raw and cold food there ...Then the GM ask how was everything and we said disappointing he said “why because we were out of turkey and dressing “! No if he would of done the job of checking tables and listened to his server instead of ingorimg him he would knew WHY WE WERE DISAPPOINTED $68plus tip for raw and cold food not my ideal of customer service from a General Manger or kitchen manger!!! Maybe they where worried about waste because of the Cowboys game but either way it doesn’t count for BAD SERVICE FROM THE GM ALFREDO SAN MIGUEL ....It’s SAD OUR SERVER TRIED BUT THE MANAGEMENT DIDNT BOTHER. I HOPE MANGEMENT TAKES CARE OF THE OTHER CUSTOMERS BETTER THAN THEY DID US ....WE WILL NOT BE BACK BECAUSE OF THE GM ALFREDO SAN MIGUEL AND KITCHEN MANGER DIDT GIVE 2 cents ABOUT CUSTOMER...
