Yesterday, my friends came into town and I was excited to bring them to Beau’s, as I have gone multiple times since its opening and typically have a great experience. However, this last experience fell short of expectations, and I do not plan to return. My friend asked to add mushrooms and spinach to her omelet, the server asked the chef, and he said they did not have any, and the server explained they are more of a “classic diner”. I’m not sure what that means because I have been going to diners all my life, and adding mushrooms and spinach to an omelet is pretty normal. The omelet doesn’t list any ingredients, only saying “you can see the contents with your own eyes.” Then, someone else in our party found a hair in their food. I was sitting next to him and saw him move the hair around with his fork. When we brought it up to the server, she apologized and took the plate away. But then she came right back, showing the plate to my friend, telling him it’s just a crack in the plate, saying that she wanted him to know that it was NOT a hair. I was taken aback because I myself saw the hair on his plate as he moved it around. She did not bother to take it off the bill, even though he did not finish his meal due to the hair. She also started to clear our table off before we all even left, which was very rude, especially considering we were the only ones in the place. I work in the hospitality industry and have for many years now. I work at a nearby hotel and have even gone out of my way to recommend Beau’s to all the guests, as it is a local business and not too busy when I go. However, after the experience we had, I will not be going back or recommending this place to guests at my work. The server has an attitude that does not match the cute aesthetic of the diner. She seems like she does not want to be there and does not create a warm environment. This server needs a lesson on how to better serve their guests. I left feeling embarrassed and ashamed that I had gone out of my way to recommend a place that ends up treating its customers in a...
Read moreOkay so we accidentally ended up at Beau’s Tiny Diner after our original brunch spot ghosted us (their hours were ✨fictional✨). But fate said “nah, you’re going to Beau’s,” and now I’m obsessed. This place is adorable — but don’t let the size fool you. The flavor? Classic. The energy? Vibrant. The humans? Lovable.
We got lucky and sat right away, but everyone who came in after us had to wait. (Pro tip: arrive hungry and early, or be ready to romanticize standing outside for a bit.)
The manager Tony came over and chatted like we were regulars. This man is hospitality personified. He didn’t even know that we were in our brunch flop era, and asked if we lived close… He literally gave us the most genuine appreciation and thanked us for making the trip. He SAW us. Like?? Sir?? I would fight for you now and forever.
Tony also hit us with some ✨elite✨ menu recs. My fiancé ordered the breakfast with a pork chop (based on the rec) and cleaned his plate like it was his job. I got a biscuit breakfast sandwich because Tony said we could do whatever subs we wanted on the menu. Love the flexibility. Shout out to the seasoned hashbrowns. So nice that they were actually flavored. Almost too salty, but after the bland potato trauma of other diners, I respect it.
Also after I requested milk with my coffee, our server brought me more with every refill WITHOUT asking. If that’s not love, idk what is.
Yes, the kitchen forgot my bacon and the aioli, but they fixed it. The space is teeny-tiny and the whole team was moving like a brunch ballet back there, so I get it. They’re clearly in their opening stretch, still finding their rhythm — but the vibe, the kindness, and the people make it so worth it.
If you’re looking for a TikTok-worthy spot with soul, Beau’s is that girl. It’s giving diner-core with Jewish roots. It’s giving “we actually care if you’re having a good day.” It’s giving me another reason...
Read moreI was excited to try this place out and brought my parents who were visiting from out of town. There was a small wait which was to be expected and they even had an air conditioned airstream available to hang out in while you wait. We got sat and the place is small but buzzing with Sunday brunch business. Frida, our server greeted us and was nice, however after we placed our order, the first round of drinks arrived promptly but after that everything took a nose dive… I ordered a honey bun to start thinking it would be something quick to prepare and enjoy but sadly that order was forgotten (Frida said the ticket was lost) but I know better, I do this too! Anyways the point is she should’ve just owned that she forgot it, asked if we still wanted it and then comped it for forgetting it. Anyways, no honeybun, so I thought I’d get a refill for my coffee but after asking twice it finally arrives, along with just one main course for my mother. Another 7 minutes go by and finally my stepfathers main course arrives, mind you we all 3 ordered the same thing!! Still no luck with my food which I then have to flag someone down to see if my food was on the way, nope, my parents are finished by this time. At this point I cancelled the rest of the order. She also forgot to order our side of bacon. The managers excuse was that they had two people call in, the solution is to not seat guests if your front of house or kitchen cannot keep up with the amount of business. I really wish this could’ve been a great experience, instead I left hungry...
