Trash. Don’t get me wrong, I like to be optimistic and look for the good in things but this is by far the worst tattoo experience I’ve ever had. Let me start with the pros: clean i guess, cool shop, that’s it. Came in with a friend for some walkins of a simple design..like so simple there’s no way you could possibly mess it up...the color is splotchy, the pupil is SO small it’s not proportional to the rest of it...and was asked to make it bigger since it was in color (which aight I understand so the color stays well and what not, but I guess I’ve just had more experienced artists in the past that did some complex detailed work) If you know what the evil eye looks like or el mal de ojo, there’s a pretty standard way it looks...we showed an example and they essentially didn’t take any of it into consideration, just started off wanting to give us circles and didn’t even know it was supposed to be in color...??? When I finally asked my artists to confirm the design he wasn’t even aware of what it was supposedly to look like...and then the two artists were confused when it came to the design..??? How do you not remember what a design looks like even after I showed you 30 seconds ago, it’s not like it’s a complex design??? Also, one of the artists just spent part of the time subtly flirting with my friend (unprofessional but we appreciate the laugh). Would never return, definitely do plan on going to get this retouched and fixed without a doubt. Lesson learned, NEVER cheat on your tattoo guy/lady. If you want a better option, try Voodoo Tattoos in San Antonio: so much more professional and will not BOTCH you. Honestly the only reason I didn’t ask him to fix it on the spot was because it’s was by far the most painful one I’ve gotten and I was just trying to find the will of god to not be rude even tho I was extremely irritated, gave that mans a 25% tip and called it a day even tho I should’ve just left without paying.

Honestly, a flunking art student could give better quality than this. If you go, have an artist set in mind because their “rotating artists” ARE HORRIBLE. The minute they take you to the very back room, run for your life. Quality...

I got 2 of my favorite tattoos done by Yvonne Garza at Calaveras. During that time I was going through some really difficult situations. My tattoos were a representation of how much I had achieved. Yvonne is incredible; she took her time to listen to what I wanted, gave amazing suggestions, and was patient with me since I was driving an hour to get to the shop. (Yup, I was driving miles just to get work done by her!) During the tattooing, she was clean, prepared, and never rushed. I was able to converse with her while she worked on me, it was super therapeutic. The tattoos came out so beautifully, and are still my favorite tattoos on my body. I really recommend this shop to anyone who is considering a tattoo. Yvonne is one of those tattoo artists that has great skills. The shading, lines, and colors still look incredible.
