It might be good but you may come across a awful meal like I did too. (My "bad" ie What's not good review is at the bottom, I chose to provide the most recent good experience and my first experience review here first and then provide the bad experience below that.) Newest update we went today (Sunday) for lunch and it looks like they have renovated the front area and no more ordering at the counter plus an expanded menu, to include a full page of lunch specials. We would highly recommend the lunch specials if you're considering trying it out to see if you like. I still stand by the service being bad for a take out orded (details at the update below orig review) 45 minutes before closing. Bottom line there's some dishes which are not as good as there really great ones. If you're there for dinner I recommend the pasta trio it's never been anything less then stellar especially for the price. --------original review on new location ----- Our favorite Italian place in San Antonio area has come close to home. The one in Helotes is too far to order pickup/takeout from but this location is close to home. I ordered my favorite (from the original location) for pickup, the Pasta Trio (which is the same dish the O Garden calls Tour of Italy but fresher, tastier, and priced right) and it did not disappoint. The salad was good but for those who like the Helotes locations Tomato Basil dressing like me they don't have that (yet?). Ordered garlic bread too because I wasn't sure if they would include their pillowy fresh baked bread or not (they did) and I would say stick to the house rolls versus the garlic bread. Alfredo, Lasagna, and most especially the chicken parmigiana were great just like their original locale. Even with having to wait through rush hour traffic on Potranco it was all piping hot fresh and delicious. Thanks for the excellent service and amazing food. No need for an Olive šŸ«’ G restaurant now. Thia place is superior in everyway and locally owned. -------------------------------------------- Update from bad experience: Not sure if it was an off night for the cook or retribution for walking in and placing an order at 9:15pm 45mins before closing but I placed a togo order at the register for the Pasta Trio which was ok but not as good as it usually is and an order of tortellini bolognese off their listed specials. The tortellini was full of grease and not a bolognese, it was more like they mixed in a broken alfredo sauce and pomodoro sauce with a bolognese sauce. It also smelled off. That meal costs $16 plus tax and I tipped just under 20% on a togo order because it was within the hour before closing. Unfortunately that dish and service has me questioning if I will return to what was our favorite Italian in town.

First time trying. We ordered: Fettuccine Alfredo with added grilled chicken (salad and bread) Lunch: Spaghetti with meat sauce (comes with bread and salad) The tossed salad contained fresh crispy lettuce, one slice of what looked like a roma tomato, 3 croutons. We chose ranch for our dressing. Ranch is restaurant style so it tastes delicious. Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. The Fettuccine sauce had no seasonings. It tasted very bland and oily. The grilled chicken had no flavor as well but didn't really taste like a fresh chicken breast. It tasted like those frozen bags of precut strips. The chicken was also dry. Spaghetti and meat sauce. It looked so beautiful but sadly it also was bland. I had to add a good amount of salt, pepper, chili flakes, and parmesan. I also added some of the whipped butter to help the noodles. After adding all of that the meal was okay. It really felt like I was eating store bought sauce and cheap brand pasta. The bread they give and would refill if you request for it was actually nice. With the cool whipped butter it tasted heavenly. For drinks we got a water and sweet tea. The water tasted like tap water which left a taste of a that dirty flavor in your mouth. I took a tiny sip and it wouldn't leave my tastebuds. The sweet tea had a lot of sugar but you can taste it's the same tap water used. The service was wonderful. All the employees are extremely nice and they keep both the dining area and restroom perfectly clean. I hate giving it a semi low score but sadly it just didn't taste like anything exciting. Perhaps their pizzas or some other dish might be better. We will definitely give them another try since majority of reviews are highly recommended. Total before tip: $32.48

This place is a mixed review for us. There are highlights and lowlights. First, highlight...or server Andrea was amazing. She can overcome any shortcomings from the kitchen. Her recommendation of Chicken Florentine was also the other highlight. This was a very good dish. The pasta sampler was okay. We would probably order it to share if we come back. The dessert we chose was their tiramisu. This was average. Now, low light. The pizza! I'm not sure if they have a pizza oven. It seems it was made in a low temperature oven. We tried the classic Margherita. They didn't use fresh mozzarella and the cheese they used made the pizza salty and oily. Now, the mortal sin is the tomato. Italian cuisine is known for high quality tomato. The tomato they put on the pizza was chunky sliced, raw, and with seeds... they used a type of tomato that seems not appropriate for this dish. We still gave this a 4 star for the service and Chicken Florentine and to be honest, the menu is nicely priced. It is a nice neighborhood Italian restaurant, but pizza would be a no go.

Well.... this is about the fourth time that myself and my wife have encountered problems with this location!!. Now, although the food there is quite excellent we have experienced significant issues of discrimination with the waitress staff as well as the onshift manager.

After attending church service today we attempted to call in an order for pick up enroute back home as my wife had to go to work later. However, for some reason which we later discovered that someone who works at this location had purposely blocked my number.

My wife in turn attempted to call the same number and was able to get through & attempted to place our order. She attempted to convey to the manager over the phone of which specific entree she wanted describing in detail what it came with but could not recall the name of the dish. The manager became very indignant with my wife over the phone to include eventually hanging up on her advising that she was not going to take her order!! My wife and I elected not to call back and have any contentions back & forth over the phone with these individuals but to just elect to go there place our orders in store and hopefully have a respectful conversation with the manager and prayerfully absolve things that way.

When we were transitioning into the restaurant it quickly became apparent as we came through the doors that not only were all the waitress staff looking at us as we came in the restaurant but, my wife also overheard them speaking amongst themselves in Spanish that "they're they are & let's just see what he's going to do and what they're going to order". We have never been disrespectful to any of these individuals in previous visits. The only suggestion we did share with this same manager in a previous visit was where we conveyed to them that in visiting their location the 2 previous times my wife requested to have a order of the Italian cake only for them to share with us that they were out again, so we merely suggested to them respectfully you might want to share with the owners to have a greater quantity of availability as obviously this was a popular item.

It now appears that after this seemingly respectful suggestion they have "blackballed us" and to include treating us in a very desperate & discriminatory manner being extremely disrespectful!!.

Additionally, my wife just wanted to sit down and have the food served in-house and in an attempt to try to diffuse this situation asked how to contact the owners only for our waitress server to also be very indignant with us and obviously supporting her manager in refusing to provide us basic information to contact the owners. This quickly became a experience which was to say the least very negative!

While awaiting for our order additional issues continued & In discussing with my wife further I suggested we call the other store to attempt to get proper contact information for the owners in an attempt to facilitate & hopefully absolve things in a respectful conversation as to our ongoing dilemma with this location. My wife was able to reach out to the other location and actually one of the owners in the wife was at that location and had a brief conversation with my wife.

After getting off the phone with her we continued to experience issues mostly with our waitresses disposition towards us as well as the on duty manager disappeared into the back when we were attempting to pay for our bill. This was a very disheartening experience to say the least! In being a military veteran living in this community for over 35 years I shared with my wife I will not be going back to this and or any of thier locations as long as the owners continue to allow this type of staff to manage their business and disrespect thier perspective customers!! Lastly, My wife out of curiosity wanted to see if she was still able to call in for ordering purposes and we quickly found out only after leaving the restaurant no more than 5 minutes they had also already blocked her number as well wow!!! Extremely disappointed and undeserving to say...
