I came last night with my boyfriend who has never been and the experience was AWFUL. 1. I told the hostess we wanted a booth that way she could notate that on the wait list by our name. The young lady who took us to be seated, sat us at a dirty table. When I told her that we asked for a booth, she smacked her lips, walked us over to a booth, and tossed our menus and silverware down and walked off. 2. When our server came, we ordered our appetizer and a bar drink. It only took the appetizer about 10 minutes to get to the table, but my boyfriend's drink that he ordered didn't come until we were done eating it. So about 20 minutes passed before he got his drink. 3. When we ordered entrees, I asked the server for 2 croissants, an extra side of broccoli casserole for my boyfriend's meal, as well, for one of my side options for my meal, and I also asked for BBQ sauce for my tenders. Omar assured us that our food would be "right out" as we waited for 20 minutes. When the food came, he didn't bring the broccoli casserole that came with my meal or the extra one for my boyfriend's meal. The croissants were definitely burned on the bottom and it was obvious they had been sitting in the expo window for a while. And I didn't get the condiments that were supposed to come with my chicken tenders (i.e. honey mustard, cocktail sauce, BBQ sauce). 4. I pointed out how awful the croissants looked and Omar said he'd bring more, which he never did. Five minutes went by before we finally got our 2 sides of broccoli casserole and my condiments for the tenders. By that time, I noticed there was a tortilla chips in my mashed potatoes. I pointed it out once Omar came back and he said he could have it remade. By that point, I was tired and just ready to go home. I told him he could just take the plate because I honestly wasn't hungry anymore and I asked if he could bring the check. He brought the check and the same plate back and told us we could just take the tenders and the shrimp from my plate home. 5. In addition to the bar drink my boyfriend ordered, we also asked for 2 waters, which we got, but our drinks never got refilled.

Is this a scratch kitchen for real? We went to cheddars and I was excited to be there since my friends recommended this place and even told me they wanted to invite me. I went there with my wife. The host took us to a broken chair and dirty table. Even though the restaurant wasn't full at all. I didn't complain about that cause I thought " well maybe all the chairs are like that'' Waiter was good at the beginning but chaos started when the food came... I was starving so we ordered a "falling from plate ribs". 2 ribeye steaks with broccoli and cheddar casserole, plus an appetizer of spinach dip. 1. Appetizers: I tasted the spinach and it tasted that it wasn't that fresh, but the taste was acceptable till some point. 4/10 2. Ribs: I felt a bit confused for a ''falling from plate of ribs'' when instead they cut it and placed it on top. Nothing as they showed even in the menu's picture. So far this was the best, but a really strong sweet BBQ made the plate boring after 3 or 4 bones. Texture was good. 6/10 And here we go, 3. Ribeye: supposed to be medium rare, and it was at the first try medium well So we ask the Waiter to change it for us. The sides were wrong too, I got broccoli instead of my casserole" and it was a shame so i changed it because the casserole was a sticky mountain of cheese with obvious overcooked broccoli that you would be lucky if you find some in there. It was that sticky that it couldn't fall from that little plate... 😳 Second try of my steak and it was Raw. 2/10 4. Service: our man left us without attention like he really left the restaurant, and the manager was the one helping taking out one plate from the check. I got a feeling that actually our complaints werent taken seriously at all. 2/10. This place needs attention all the ways...

A Delightful Dining Experience at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen On my recent visit to Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen in San Antonio, I was treated to an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. To kick things off, I ordered the chips and queso with ground beef, and it was a perfect starter. The queso was creamy, flavorful, and had just the right amount of spice, while the crispy tortilla chips provided the perfect crunch. Adding ground beef elevated the dish, making it even heartier and more satisfying. For the main course, I went with a ribeye steak cooked medium, accompanied by two sides: broccoli cheese casserole and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. The steak was grilled to perfection—tender, juicy, and seasoned just right. The broccoli cheese casserole was rich and cheesy, a comfort food classic done well, and the mashed potatoes were smooth and flavorful, complemented perfectly by the savory brown gravy. To round out the meal, I indulged in the homemade fried apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The pastry was golden and crispy, with a warm, cinnamon-spiced apple filling that paired beautifully with the creamy, cold vanilla ice cream. It was the perfect sweet ending to an already fantastic meal. Beyond the food, the service was spectacular. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right, adding to the overall experience. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Until then, Cheddar’s, keep up the great work! ✌️

My husband and I went to Cheddars on 12/1 for dinner. We were sat quickly at a booth right by the big fish tank which was nice, however, our table was dirty, covered in rice and we had to clean it ourselves.

When our server came up to take our drink orders, she was friendly, but seemed a little out of it or distracted. I asked for a water and a coke, my husband asked for a water and a beer. She brought me water, and my husband both of his drinks. She never brought my coke, I chalked that up to the universe telling me I didn't need a soda. We ordered our food, I asked for a side of broccoli cheese casserole because it is probably the best thing on their menu. She even repeated it back to me and said a side of broccoli casserole. When our food came, she brought out a side of just broccoli. I politely said this isn't what I ordered, I asked for the broccoli cheese casserole. The waitress, I can't remember her name, (I am not even sure she told us), legitimately stared at me for 15 - 20 seconds, put the plate down and said okay eat it anyway, and walked away. I thought okay, she is going to replace it with what I ordered and let us keep the wrong item since it was already on the table. I was wrong. She never brought me what I ordered. When the bill came, the broccoli was on the bill, neither of us touched it since I didn't order it and we asked for it to be taken off. The waitress looked at my husband like he was speaking a foreign language and then said oh, okay and took the broccoli and left. She came back to tell us it had been taken off. At this restaurant, you pay at the table on the tablet. She would NOT let me pay by myself. She took my card from me and proceeded to use the tablet on my behalf. THEN, she hovered over me while I was instructed to leave a tip. After that, she hovered some more and made me take the survey. I don't at all have a problem tipping anyone, I do have a problem with this person standing there watching me. It was very uncomfortable. And when I say she was hovering, she was basically in the booth with me. I felt pressured into taking the survey, which would have been answered with completely different responses than what I gave based on the service, but it was so uncomfortable with her basically on top of me. I opted to send my receipt to my email and was so ready to leave due to the awkwardness and feeling so incredibly uncomfortable, that I am assuming I typed it in wrong because I never received the receipt.

Normally I love eating at Cheddars, I always have a great experience, and the food is always good, however, it will be a very long time before I return. I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life. A server should not stand over you and watch you tip them or watch you take the survey. I am not cold-hearted, I was not about to put my true feelings down with her hovering over me like she was.

Overall, it was a very disappointing experience that I am in no...

I've gone to Cheddar's when they opened in Dallas in the late 80s. Now I'm not making a comparison of then and now but it was a lot of fun and the food was very good. Fast forward to when Cheddars came down to San Antonio about 13 years ago. I went there with my wife and daughter about a year after it opened. Very clean great atmosphere great service great food still the same that I recall. I went there last night with my son. The place was absolutely filthy napkins food all over the floor and even in the walkways. The hostess was very bland and not really happy at all. Although I liked our waitress she needs some serious training. Waited over 20 minutes for our appetizer she spent too long with other customers one that was having a birthday. By time our appetizer came out it was lukewarm. A table across from me I watched one of your service eating off the table with the customers there I'm guessing the family that was there one was her boyfriend because she was talking forever to them and eating off their plates. Then it seems like your employees and staff tend to have their hangout booth in the middle of your floor not towards the back of the kitchen usually I've seen them at the bar side closest to the kitchen. My son had to ask for his drink three times. We got there I believe at 8:45 p.m. and we didn't get our food until 9:45 p.m. 15 minutes before you close and we were kind of rushed out cuz as soon as 10:00 hit we heard the vacuuming. Looks like I certainly made the mistake of coming to this place. Now ask for our plates my son got the chicken and shrimp he said the breading of the shrimp there was no shrimp because they had fried it all out. I got the steak and chicken the grease used for the chicken you can tell was old and tasted horrible he and I both got the loaded mashed potatoes they were dry and they were just plain lazy. I am hoping that I just pick the wrong day and time to go. On a Sunday evening. Other than that I was kind of appalled to see management staff hanging out on a main floor booth and one of the staff eating on a customer's table regardless if they knew them or not. And like I said your floors were absolutely atrocious napkins food crumbs. I wanted to take pictures but I didn't want people around wondering what I was doing. Pick it...

Awful service and it's ashame because I like Cheddar's food. In the past I have gone with my family but there have been times I've gone alone for lunch. Yesterday was one of 3 trips there that ruin my experience not to mention not getting to eat what I came for. Each time having gone there alone the waiters seem to forget about you. Yesterday took the cake I had to wait a bit before being sitted and a waited another 20 minutes before the waitress came by and said she didn't she me (maybe because she never came around to check since this is a table she's assigned to wait on) well I gave her my order seeing as by the time I came through the door was now 50 minutes ago. A few minutes later 3 people were sitted in the table in front of me. Their waitress waited on them immediately brought them their drinks serveral minutes later she brought them their food. Fifteen minutes later my waitress comes by and tells me it'll be just a few minutes later. The last straw, I got up and told her to cancel my order, I ran down the bit about this has happened twice before where it took them forever to wait on me then these people get here way after me, they weren't even here when I first arrive and they've already been eating. The waitress asked me if I wanted a manager I told her no I was leaving and going somewhere else that would wait on me right away. Very disappointing what started my beautiful day and looking forward to going to eat at Cheddar's turned out just awful and I had wanted to eat here. Not sure if I will try one more time? This happened once at another resturant and I haven't gone back since, one less customer and I've let others know about the service. People go for the food of course but what makes it even nicer is when you have good customer service and waiters tin to the customer with out having to flag them down and on some occasions have to keep asking for refills. After all isn't it their sole purpose of their job is to serve the customer??? Now I will say there have been a few times I had great waiters and tipped them well. Just haven't had that happen the last 3 times. So with Cheddar's advertising the wondering food, managers need to be on top of this and make sure customers are taking care of from the time they walk...
