I'm sure this is a rare occurrence for Culver's as I see none other than rave reviews. However, my experience was completely opposite. I ordered the vegetarian burger, specified" by itself" no value basket. The lady taking my order was very sweet. My negative experience has nothing to do with her, yes she entered my order incorrectly, but mistakes happen, we ALL make them. My pure annoyance and frustration is associated only with the individual that took my phone call today. I asked ( over the phone ) after opening my veggie burger to find it dry , no tomatoes no lettuce or onions no mayo,or sauce of any kind. Bone dry.Am I incorrect in thinking it was supposed to have Toms, lettuce, onions and at least mayo or something? Mine is simply bun and patty ,nothing else. She didn't even respond so I repeated myself. She asked I remember which register I ordered from, I wasn't sure so she asked what my order # was , of course I don't remember ( I have no receipt. I told her my order was in store maybe 20 min ago ( at approx 12:15. She then says, well it was ordered on the register plain and we don't do that unless customer asks us to. I told her why would I be calling with this question if I had asked for it to be this way? I said I would take a photo of it so she/ they can see it's as I say it is, I'm working till 8 but can I have it replaced w/ proper condiments either tonight or tomorrow? She says if I bring it back to the restaurant then yes. I told her I don't have time to go back over there my lunch is half over and I now have nothing to eat ( not her problem but Ive had no brkfst. either and have been at work since 8A.M.and am here till 8 P.M. I was just going to go ahead and eat it bone dry and plain. I bite into it and it's BARELY cooked! Mushy! So I took it back over there forefeting the rest of my lunch break and hungry. No time to wait to have it remade so I asked for a refund. Again, I have no issue with the kind girl that missentered my order. I just don't like having to spend 5 to 10 minutes explaining my burger is dry and plain being made to feel like a liar and not even a slight apology for my experience! So today it's a one ounce bag of Doritos for lunch and water which also serves as my breakfast and now dinner (I'm NOT going to Culver's ) and only have a 30 min brk at 5 . Culver's won't be seeing me in there for ANYTHING in the near...
Read moreMy family and I are huge Culver's fans and wherever we visit a different city, we tend to do a quick search of the area to determine if there's a Culver's nearby. As we were departing San Antonio on 28 Mar 2025 to head back home, I searched for a nearby Culver's and conveniently, it was close to the restaurant we ate at for brunch. We opted to go here (even though we were full from brunch), prior to driving to the airport...because it's that important to us.
Funny thing about Culver's is that we try to order something different every time we visit. But you know that very moment when the cashier asks, "May I take your order," and based on habit, you become lost for words and find yourself reverting back to the same thing you always ordered because you know the flavor(s) are superb? That happens to me every time and this occurred with all of us...again. Meaning, we got our sundaes with the same toppings and a concrete mixer with the same ingredients. As with the majority of Culver's visits across the Nation, this franchise didn't disappoint. The frozen custard is truly remarkable, putting smiles on our faces and bringing back that sense of nostalgia of when we first experienced Culver's frozen custard.
Disclaimer - I don't eat the food here; I only get the frozen custard so I can't provide any opinions on the value of their food; however, for their custard, I feel that the prices are reasonable. I am always appreciative of this franchise for their continuous support to the men and women of the Armed Forces including its Veterans - thank you for that! I wish I would've retrieved our cashier's name because she was very friendly and efficient. So whoever was working the register on 29 Mar 2025 @ ~1:39 p.m., thank you for the wonderful experience.
Overall, this was a 5-star experience. The custard was top quality (yes, I've had some where they were extremely runny); I especially enjoyed how this restaurant finely (and perfectly) diced the strawberries in my sundae...intricate details like this goes a long way, in my opinion. Definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone! Note to customers: When you pull into the parking area, don't make that immediate left where the folks from the drive-thru are exiting; there are arrows pointing you in the...
Read moreUpdate: Returned after initial ice cream fiasco only to have greasy fried cod, cold and tasteless broccoli and pot roast sandwich, and overcooked cheese curds. But whattaya know, the frozen custard was great! 🙄 Sorry Culvers, will not be returning.
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED HOW OUR FIRST VISIT SUNDAY 8/28/22 11:45-1pmish ENDED! We were excited to try this place and were so looking forward to varied menu and frozen custard treats and left not wanting to return. We were extremely happy with freshness of burger patties (although patties do need more seasoning) and other ingredients. The pot roast sandwich was extremely delicious and tender. I had the pattymelt on rye and loved it. Fries, rings and curds were on point! Then we ordered our treats after our meal...... We waited almost 15 minutes sitting patiently since we did see a large party coming and going with their treats. Then I see a server frantically looking at tables for the little # number tents and when she see ours asks if we've been waiting for ice cream. After we said yes, she goes to counter and comes back with our 2 cones, which are half melted scoops sitting in a puddle of melted ice cream, and two concrete mixers that look like floats. My kids anxiously started digging in but my wife n I wanted new cones. I took them to counter, showed same server the puddly mess and my wife's liquidy glass and asked if they had just been sitting there and forgotten about since they were so melted. She stated "the frozen custard machine is not getting as cold as it should and the cappuccino mixer always melts like that cuz if the syrup" and if I wanted a refund. Not wanting to make a big stink about it, I gave her my cone and walked away before my wife's mixer melted any more. I honestly would've preferred they admitted to forgetting about them, than such a weak excuse. And if they know the machine isn't working properly, just don't sell untill it's fixed! I AM STILL UPSET AT HOW WHAT SEEMED LIKE A NEW ADDITION TO MY FAMILY'S RESTAURANT ROUTINE WENT SO SOUTH SO FAST! DON'T THINK...
