Update 5/30/2024: I went back to this Denny's for breakfast today and what do you know..... the server provided me the regular menu and the Diner Deals insert. So in all fairness, I am raising their rating from two stars to four stars. I had an outstanding server, the food was good and I finished up my visit talking with the manager to let her know things went well.
Update 3/8/2024: This location just doesn't seem to get it. Had breakfast this morning and the waitress brought me the main menu without the everyday Diner Deals insert. I'm lowering their review to two stars this time. I asked the waitress,"are there no more everyday diner deals?" And she replied,"oh yeah, let me see if I can find one of those inserts." REALLY!!?? Folks, if you go to this Denny's please make sure that they offer you the diner deals insert and if they don't offer it to you without you having to ask for one, complain to the manager and to their corporate office. That's what I'm going to do.
Update 9/22/2023: I went back for breakfast this morning and guess what? Again, I was given the main menu without the Diner Deals insert. I asked the waitress if this has everything? And she replied, "oh yeah, there is one more thing." She then turned around and went up front and grabbed a Diner Deals insert and brought it to me. I looked around and saw some families with kids and I felt sorry for them because they probably have no idea of the specials here at Denny's. Instead they pay the full price on the main menu when they could be saving a few bucks by ordering off the Diner Deals..... jus sayin!! As a result I'm taking them from four stars down to three.
08/23/2023: I'm giving them only four stars for one reason. I went online and saw that Denny's offers everyday value meal deals. I went into this restaurant for breakfast and I didn't see the value meals on the menu. I asked the waitress about the cheddar scrambled eggs and two pancakes special and she said, "oh, that's on the value menu" which she didn't bring to me or offer to bring to me. When she brought my meal out she just set it in front of me and walked off. I wanted to get sugar-free pancake syrup, since they do not have that on the table, but she never returned. So I just ate them with regular syrup. When I went up front to pay my bill I asked about the value menu and the lady told me that when you sit down the wait staff are supposed to offer you the insert that shows value meals along with the regular menu. The food was good but the waitress seemed to be a little on the inattentive side. She did not ask if I needed a drink refill until I was completely finished with my meal, which at that time I'm...

Read moreMy wife and I love Mediterranean food since meeting and marrying on the island of Crete. We have tried a number of Med restaurants in San Antonio with mixed results. Being Saturday night, we decided to give Jerusalem Grill a try. It is pretty big place with an impressive menu including many middle eastern favorites from the fabulous, and never ending, hot fresh pita bread to Hummus, Baba Ganoush, Tabouleh, Tzatziki, Kabobs, Gyros, Shawarma, Falafel and on and on. It was quite crowded with large tables of people enjoying their meals. There were only three waiters and it seems only one of them did any table bussing. A lot of tables had left over dishes including a table for at least 12 people. Our waiter, Zahi, seemed a bit rushed but was courteous. He brought the hot pita bread and a very flavorful dip. Best pita bread in San Antonio, period. The dip was an exquisite accompaniment, olive oil, spices, feta cheese. Very hard to stop eating. We started with the Mezza Plate Appetizer with your choice of four appetizers for $16.99. We had Baba Ghanoush, a wonderful, smoky eggplant dip; Mahnara, a red pepper, sweet and spicy dip with the right amount of heat; Deep fried Cauliflower, hand dried and spiced lightly, great taste, but undercooked and came out luke warm; and finally a smoked eggplant salad with tomato, onion, cucumbers, bell pepper, garlic, olive oil and lemon juice. I really liked this, but my wife did not like the mouth feel, a bit slippery. Unfortunately, the appetizer plate came out with the entrees. We waited nearly a half hour or more for our food. Otherwise, very impressed with the appetizer. Our entree's were the Lamb Gyro for my wife and the Lamb Kabob for me. Unfortunately, the entree's were cool and the pita cold. Only four cubes of meat on my Lamb Kabob, not much flavor. The Gyro was not much better. $11.99 each. Drinks, iced tea and diet Pepsi at $2.99 each. Total with tip, 15%, $57.87. Overall, not enough waiters or bussing staff. One waiter was standing near the kitchen on his cell phone. The appetizers were for the most part great. Bread, great. Entree's, Blah. However, given the breadth of the menu, my wife and I would give this place a...
