Hilton Garden Inn Review – A Truly Pleasant Stay! 🏨

Stayed for 4 nights back at the end of July. The only thing I can say is positive is the staff. Hubby had work in the area so I stayed in the room while he was out. Our first room had a Jacuzzi which we thought was a great upgrade, especially when we saw the pool was mostly drained and unusable. We were wrong. I drew the bath and turned on the tub, nothing happened. Disappointed but not a deal breaker, that was when I spotted some other critters . We went and told them and showed them the pics, they said they knew the tub didn't work and those tubs were supposed to be removed in a renovation...but when covid hit rehab was pushed off. They moved our room further down the hall which was also tolerable as the 1 elevator that worked when we checked in was not working any longer and we had to lug 3 large toolboxes up the stairs to our room as we didn't want to take a chance in getting the rental car broken into. They were also "shoring" up the beams while we were there. Ice machines did not work and neither did the washer. We had been travelling for the last 2 weeks and really needed to do laundry but could not. I ended up washing some underwear in the sink and hanging it to dry over the air conditioner. Desk chair in the first room was broken only 1 screw held the back of the chair. Shade also didn't go up or down. Second room I could not use the outlet on my side of the bed as there was no cover on the outlet and it moved a lot in the socket. I also got some creamer for my coffee and left it next the the coffee maker for and hour or so while grabbed some bagels from a restaurant down the street, came back to the creamer cup covered in ants. This facility needs major work. Staff did the best they could but wow was I glad to be out of that hotel.

During my recent stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Airport in San Antonio, I was extremely disappointed with both the condition of the property and the service provided. Upon arrival, the exterior looked neglected, with moss and algae covering the roofing — something highly unusual for San Antonio and a sign of long-term lack of upkeep. Entering the lobby, there was a strong, unpleasant odor that made for an unwelcoming first impression, and the front desk agent was far from friendly. The most concerning issue was a serious security lapse — I was given keys to a room that was already occupied by another guest. This meant I was able to walk into someone else’s room without their knowledge. When I returned to the desk, I was reassigned to another room, but it was far from clean: • Pubic hair in the bed upon arrival • A constant bathroom leak that continued after being reported • Towels and bedsheets with visible stains • Persistently damp carpet • Dirt and stains on the coffee table I have photos documenting these issues. Between the lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance, and the alarming room assignment mistake, I cannot recommend this hotel. I will not be returning, and I hope management takes immediate steps to address these serious concerns.

Update* so they reply back to this review and give me this number where the agent has no idea about me, takes my info and I never hear anything again ..... I booked a room with two breakfasts I bought the breakfast "Buffet" when I booked the room.... Here's where things get weird... As I walk into the dining area and proceed to what looks to be the buffet table near the cook. This lady rushes out of nowhere and tells me good morning and I can have a seat anywhere I'd like. I was kind of taken off by that. However, I complied and sat at a table. At this point I'm a little confused but I played along. She proceeds to ask me if I have a ticket for the buffet. I informed her I never received any tickets when I checked in. She said I need to either have a ticket or she inform me of the prices. I said no big deal. I'll be right back. Went to the front desk. They pulled up my reservation and verified. I had purchased two breakfast vouchers the gentleman asked me if I needed both of them. I said no. It's just me and he handed me a voucher without writing anything on it. I proceed back to the dining area. Set my voucher on my table and "think okay now I can get me something to eat" there are two big warmers over by the cook so I proceed to those when the cook pops out. Very rudely tells me to have a seat at my table and the lady will be with me in just a moment. This cook had a real attitude problem. Not sure what he's doing in the hospitality business when he clearly doesn't like to interact with people. Anyways I go back to my table and wait for the lady to come back. By this time I'm hungry. I'm a little annoyed. I'm just ready to eat. She takes my ticket studies. It very carefully. Looks at it front to back notices. There's nothing written on it and then ask me what I would like to have. She tells me I'm welcome to have the breakfast buffet or I can order items off of the menu. I start to walk up to the warmers and she stands in front of me as to block me from going up there. By this point I'm completely confused. She keeps asking me what I would like to have to eat. My reply is I'm not sure yet. I don't know what you all have I would like to take a look and see what catches my eye now. This lady was nice. She really was. She was trying however she had a really heavy accent so it was a little hard to understand her and she proceeded to name off the menu and asked me again what I would like. I'm defeated by this point. I threw in the white towel not literally but I told her can I just have everything please? She said would you like eggs? I said yes. I would like some scrambled eggs. She said sausage I said yes I would love some sausage. She said what kind. We have three different kinds I said bring me all of them. This is a buffet. I'll take them all everything you have. I'll take some bacon whatever you have. Since you don't want to tell me what you have. I'll take a little bit of everything... Come to think of it. I never got any bacon. During this conversation, the cook is standing by the grill I don't know if you thought he was hidden behind a wall or if he thought I wasn't looking at him, but I could see him making faces and rolling his eyes as I was talking to her, . You never pick a fight with someone who's about to cook your food. so after telling her that I'm hungry I would like a little bit of everything since I don't know what they have. I go and sit at my table. Not sure what they discussed but here's where I get really upset, instead of making my order this little jerk takes my ticket and goes up to the front desk. After 6 mins The cook comes back from the front desk and begins on my order. About 20 minutes later I get a plate that has some decent scrambled eggs. Three different kinds of sausage. Some cold ugly looking potatoes. No bacon, nothing else. I'm scared to even ask about the drink situation. Do I go up and get it or will they tackle me? Not once did the lady ever come up and ask if I would like anything else from the "buffet" that was the weirdest buffet I've...

This hotel looks great on the outside, but the staff and room service need improvement. Upon first arrival, the room was very clean and we had no complaints until we tried to use the phone to order room service. The phone was broken and they transferred me to the bar after I called on my cell phone to let them know. I ordered 2 margaritas, both tasted like they had absolutely no alcohol in them, just a sweet obnoxious margarita mix taste and a complete waste of money.

The following morning I had the breakfast which was decent, but the bacon was cold and undercooked. The cantaloupe had a spoiled taste, and biscuits were not served even though it was after 7am. I then proceeded to ask if they sold hairspray at the pantry and was informed they didn't. Another staff member walked over and retrieved the hairspray (which they did sell) and that made for an awkward moment. The same employee then flagged me down after breakfast, asking for a valid credit card on file to charge. I said that we already paid our entire room fee, left a credit card on file, and they had already charged us a $40 deposit. After looking again, she apologized, but then said it was because my original card was declined. I said, impossible! I had proof of the charges on my online banking statement. She apologized and said it was resolved. However, blaming a customer to look better in front of a work colleague for something the customer didn't do was very intrusive and left an uncomfortable feeling in my stomach. Never blame a customer, especially after YOU are incorrect. An actual apology would have sufficed, but I did not receive one.

The next morning, the room was serviced by housekeeping, but they forgot to include large towels and wash clothes. I called to the front desk and explained the situation and the staff tried to get me to come down to retrieve the towels. I informed them that my 5 year old was sick and sleeping so I could not come down. This was at 9pm. She said she would bring the towels to me but never arrived. The Keurig machine was cleaned but tasted of bleach after brewing the first cup.

The room service timing was terrific, but the quality of food was less than desired. I spent $75 on 2 flat breads and a bottle of wine. The flat breads were so small and tasteless. The bottle of wine was the best part of my meal. There is a $17 fee for room service that is not clearly stated on any information in the room or with the info packet provided. I've stayed at the Bellagio in Las Vegas with fewer fees.

The indoor pool is very small and unheated. My son could not tolerate more than 30 min in the chilly waters. You can hear everyone at the pool if you have an interior room towards the middle. We also heard a crying baby all night long in the room adjacent to ours. Made for an unpleasant night. Perhaps moving families with really small children to the outside rooms would be more conscious of others for the night. Nothing against those bringing babies, it's up to the hotel to accommodate each of us appropriately, and I felt they fell short of that.

Although the hotel itself was nice, clean, and visually appealing we will not return for another stay. I was expecting much more from Hilton honestly. Overall, the 3 star review is...

have been A big fan of Hilton Hotels , specially Garden in. It’s economical , clean and feels the same at every place . Last week I was in Hilton falls view in Niagara and my booking was at 8th floor . Once I reached the hotel , I checked if there is any room available at higher floor and I was told by the front desk that they are fully booked and no room is available . By chance the manager was passing by and checked . He said being a gold member I have been upgraded to a suite , 15th floor and facing the falls . Wow !! The lady at the front desk had just refused . This week I am garden In San Antonio and I was given a room at ground floor , next to the hotel restaurant and the closet size was half , I checked with the front desk and I was told tonight there are fully booked and may be next morning I will be able to move in another room . Next morning about 9 Am , I went to the front desk again and I was told they are fully booked and there is no other room available . I asked for the manager , she came and just told the staff at the front desk to move me to 4th floor and I moved to 4th floor at 10 Am meaning that room was available the night before as well but the staff just refused to provide me with an alternative . And I had just told him about my experience for the last time . I don’t know what’s going on here either the staff doesn’t have full access or they are simply trained to say no .i have not seen the front desk smile ever during my 3 night stay and ofocurae the Pool was not working . I have my Room Ac set up at 65F , but it’s cooling just enough not to make me sweat . Will have to check that out in the morning as I have another night left . From becoming a big fan of Hilton , I am starting to have my doubts . Next time you book in Hilton , make sure you talk to the manager if you need any help coz the front desk staff is going to say no to everything.( I just read the previous reviews , one elevator was not working and pool not functional , still The same :( ) Oh ! Just came to know there were 18 breakin in the cars parked on the parking lot ! And police say it happens...
