This is in regards to our visit to this Denny's location on April 21st, 2024 @ 5:00pm. There was a cook there that was named "Josh Cook" and he has not done a great job with preparing our foods for a while now, around 2 weeks now. When we were there on April 21st, 2024, my husband ordered "2 Poached Eggs & White Toast w/extra butter and also a Lemonade", and I ordered a "T-bone steak & eggs, with an Unsweet Tea". Well, when Josh prepared my order and it came to the table, the Steak looked like it wasn't prepared well and it wasn't even seasoned, and it tasted kinda funny, not like a regular seasoned steak would taste. So, I called for our waiter and she asked me what did I want to order instead of the steak as I wasn't going to eat something like this that wasn't prepared correctly. So, I ordered the Grand Slam Sandwich and after it was prepared by Josh, as he put it on a plate to be brought to my table, the server asked Josh as to where this sandwich were to go and Josh indicated to the server "That it goes to the TWO GAY GUYS on the table over there!". Mind you I heard that and wasn't happy with the response and rudeness he had with the server/waitress. So, I was appalled by the response and then he was also acting very differently like he was "High" on something and to deal with the servers/waitresses like that was very UNPROFESSIONAL on his behalf.
The franchise manager called me the day after named "Ben" and he said that Josh had to be written up and told that he can't say something like that to a customer whether he knew or not, as it's not professional first before he was to be fired for saying something like that with other customers sitting in the restaurant and hearing his voice regarding the comment he made to the waitress.
Back in my day as I'm 55 years old now, and I know if I were to say something like that to someone while working in a professional environment, I would be fired in a heart beat and not even given the chance to correct myself and even given a letter. That is a derogatory term for putting us out there and for no reason. I would have a hard time going back to that restaurant again with him being the cook on the days we are there, which is almost 4-5 times a week. We love the food but, the cooks ambiance isn't that great and unprofessional.
I was very appalled and am thinking of going back again if I encounter a cook or anybody like that to disregard us "Gay People" in any way. I don't usually encounter anyone who would say something to me but, again, when I heard that coming from his mouth, I was pissed and I just wanted to get out of there. I didn't want to see his face and/or talk to him ever again. He was very rude and unprofessional and when all of the waitresses and managers were doing their job and being treated unprofessionally from Josh Cook was unacceptable. If he has something going on in his life, he should leave that at home and not take it to work with him.
Lastly, I noticed that he also started a fire in the kitchen that day and I don't know who put it out but, he was just pissed or mad at someone or something.
With the GrandSlam Sandwich, he just put the cheese in it and it wasn't even melted within the sandwich and like he didn't care how it would look after a waitress had given me my order. Also, the steak didn't look right or...
Read moreMy recent experience at Denny's left much to be desired, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend it based on the poor service we received, particularly from one staff member.
On a Saturday afternoon, my brother, father, and I decided to use our $5 coupons for brunch at Denny's. Upon arrival, the restaurant was bustling, which we anticipated for a weekend. The hostess, Melanie, informed us that we couldn't be seated until our entire party was present. After a short wait, she seated us in a booth without the complete party, which we found a bit unusual but forgivable given the busy day.
The real issues began when we waited an additional 10 minutes after my brother and father arrived for someone to take our order. Melanie, the hostess who seated us, eventually took our order but seemed distracted and disorganized. Another server, Ramshika, stepped in and took over, which was appreciated, but it was evident that the table rotation system caused some confusion among the staff.
Midway through our meal, I attempted to get MONICA's attention to address a concern. Despite my polite attempts, she snapped and raised her voice, claiming she was in the middle of a conversation. It was clear to everyone at our table that she was not speaking to anyone at the time. Her unprofessional behavior and inability to handle customer interactions suggest that she may be better suited for a role away from direct customer service, such as a dishwasher.
As someone who understands the demands of the service industry (my mother was a server for over 10 years), I was deeply disappointed by MONICA's lack of professionalism and her inability to control her temper. Her behavior overshadowed the efforts of our hostess, Melanie, and our server, Ramshika, who both handled the rush admirably.
While the food may have been decent, the poor service from MONICA ensures that my family and I will not be returning to this Denny's location. I would advise future patrons to be cautious and avoid sitting near booths adjacent to the blinds, as they appeared visibly DIRTY, possibly even stained with what resembled either a booger or blood, leaving the cleanliness of the dining area questionable AND I CAUTION anyone considering a visit to Denny's in the morning to be wary of encountering MONICA as their server. It's a shame that one staff member's attitude can tarnish the reputation of an entire...
Read moreI am at a complete loss of words. If I ever got my food I may be able to rate it better. The staff was just yelling and swearing at each other working the same 3 tickets in the window for over an hour. A gentleman came in for a side of corn that was left out and then one of the staff yelled at him that it was in the bag. Then he mentioned he had called and talked to her and then she apologized. He waited 30 min and then left. Without the corn. I was told it would be at least another hour when I arrived for my web order. I told them not to worry about it and to cancel. A woman with a printed ticket went and started looking in the expo window and then never returned with an answer on whether my food was being made, or cancelled, or said anything at all. After another 20 min I asked what was going on with the order and whether or not it was being cancelled at which point a server or cashier yelled at me and said " You're waiting on your food like everybody else!" I don't even know what to say about the whole experience. I was only trying to get an answer on whether or not the order was cancelled. So many cancelled orders, at least 6 people I saw working, not allowing tables to sit, no food being made. Zero leadership whatsoever. 3 people standing up front to bag food that isn't being cooked. Standing there or yelling won't get the food out. Taking charge and leading and pulling from the front will. Rather than yelling at all the people waiting that were all surprisingly extremely patient and nice, maybe try putting on an apron and picking up a spatula. Or maybe call out the items to each station they should be cooking if you arent any better at flipping eggs than you are at running...
