Iāve eaten many donuts from this location. They were tasty. Iāve had quite a few service issues with their staff being rude by refusing to acknowledge customers or inform them about what to expect with regard to wait times. Iāve experienced it personally and witnessed it done to others. I was considering going back this morning, after a long hiatus, as I have to be in that area for an errand. But then I fell down the Google review rabbit hole and was reminded exactly how egregious the customer service issues are. Then I started noticing a theme with the replies from the owner. Anytime rude employees or poor customer service are mentioned in a review, the owner has a snarky remark. In one case, sarcastically saying they will strive to greet every customer with the utmost gratitude or something to that effect in response to a review that said employees intentionally avoided eye contact & ignored paying customers who were waiting to have their order taken for 10-15 min and standing right in front of them. Itās common courtesy & takes no effort to simply speak to the humans whose money you are about to take. To another reviewer with the same complaint the ownerās excuse was that it takes a long time to make donuts to order as though that addresses the issue. The complaint was not about the wait AFTER the order was taken, nor even before, but rather the wait to be acknowledged instead of awkwardly ignored. The owner has only excuses & an attitude for any comment that is less than 100% positive, which shows a lack of gratitude for patrons & an arrogant assumption that they will continue to return. No appreciation for those willing/able to shell out $2.50 PER DONUT. Will not even placate them in a reply, much less rectify the issue, choosing snark & a disrespectful attitude instead. No thanks. I donāt need any product enough to tolerate that. I love all pastries and there are many fine bakeries in SA. No more DD for me.
1 star for atmosphere bc pervasive & atrocious attitude problem of the staff ruins it. Clearly a top...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were visiting from California and wanted some good donuts and we were told to try Duck Donuts so we did just that. One thing we really liked was that they were made to order. We were only going to order 2 donuts but the flavor options made it undeniably hard so we went all in with the half dozen(why not!!). We also loved that you can customize donuts as well which we did our second time around the very next day lol. If you can't tell by now, we LOVED LOVED LOVED these donuts. You can't go wrong with whatever you choose because I am pretty sure any flavor you choose will be very delicious.
The donuts were warm, cake-like and fluffy, even when I ate one later on in the evening, they were still delicious and NOT DRY. They rewarm very well also so there's no need to fear if you don't eat them right away. I would definitely recommend the original glaze, strawberry shortcake, cinnamon bun, zebra and peanut butter paradise(if you like peanut butter). The customer service did lack because no one really said anything to us until we were ready to place our order and even with that interaction it was very dry, lack luster and non engaging(even when we had questions). I understand some people aren't really personable so I didn't let that interfere with our experience because we were super excited to try this spot. Native or not I truly recommend duck donuts, these were some of the best donuts I've had in a very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame down to San Antonio with the wife and while she was at her seminar searched for great donut shops. I came across this place where people raved about the donuts.
I love donuts and to all the TBL first responders I highly recommend this place.
I can say they are top notch and lived up to all the positive reviews. The service was very fast and the customer service was phenomenal!!!
Being a first time customer I got a variety of donuts and tried their coffee as well. I tried the pecan coffee over ice and it was great! The donuts are made fresh upon your order and are full of flavor. Hopefully my wife can try them when she returns to the hotel. Saying that because they are so good I might be tempted to eat the rest of them.
YOU MUST STOP HERE WHEN IN THE AREA!!!!! Your taste buds will thank you and if you are on a diet it is worth treating yourself to these delicious, delectable, wholesome morsels of morning happiness!!! If you go please donut a dollar to their cancer fundraiser for kids I donated while there.
If you donate they will give you a card for another donut for free on your next visit. What's better than helping kids with cancer and getting a free donut as well?? Please help out if you can.
You can hit the gym later knowing that you have tried one of the best donut places in the world. Thank you Duck donuts for making my first...
