I had really been looking forward to visiting Brindle's Ice Cream. It was one of the spots on my list of ice cream places to try, and I was excited to finally make it here. The shop itself is small, kind of cute and inviting—nothing over the top. It looks moderately clean. Unfortunately, my first impression was disappointing. The woman behind the counter, a Hispanic lady with long black hair, didn’t seem very customer service oriented. She wasn’t warm or friendly at all. When I asked if I could get the crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e flavor—which looked like it was almost gone, probably because it’s popular—she didn’t say a word. She just turned her back and went to the back of the shop. I had no idea what was going on. There was no communication, and her attitude felt cold and dismissive. When she returned, she started scraping what was left of the ice cream from the container. It was just enough to fill a small cup. I tried to stay polite and understanding, but she didn’t make any effort to be kind. She asked me very quickly if I wanted any toppings. I said, “No, thank you,” and she immediately rushed to ring me up. The small cup of ice cream came out to $6.22, which surprised me. It felt steep for the amount I received. After I paid, she didn’t say anything—just turned around and walked away, leaving the ice cream on the counter. It came off as rude and dismissive. Honestly, this kind of attitude can really bring a place down. As for the ice cream itself—it tasted good. Not amazing, but good. Still, it’s disappointing when your first experience at a place leaves a bad taste—not because of the product, but because of the service. And for me, sadly, this will also be the last time I visit.

My husband and I visit San Antonio often and are slowly building a list of our top places to eat. We hadn't found an ice cream shop we really loved until tonight. The funny thing is that we had originally wanted to try a different shop but a glitch with Google maps ended up taking us in the opposite direction. Rather than drive all the way back we decided to give another shop a try and we're so glad we did. Brindle's Awesome Ice Creams is... Well.... Awesome! The owner was working the register and invited us to try all the various flavors.... To be honest every flavor we tried was delicious! We finally decided to get 2 scoops in a waffle cone bowl. My husband got cookies and cream and I got the banana pudding. The waffle bowl was delicious and crispy. The cookies and cream is probably hands down the best cookies and cream I have ever had. Brindle's blends the Oreos into the vanilla ice cream so that every bite is creamy and full of cookie flavor. They then add chunks of oreo cookie to put it over the top. Now, anyone will tell you banana pudding is not something I would normally get. But this ice cream tastes EXACTLY like real banana pudding and has chunks of Nilla wafers too! I had to get it and enjoyed every bite. We learned that the owner just recently took over the business. In fact, he told us Brindle's was a date night favorite when he and his wife first started dating! So cool that he now owns it. He's obviously passionate about ice cream and puts a lot of love into his flavors. We are big fans and will definitely keep coming back!

Like other reviewers say - used to be great! Break the windows and bring in your replacement cooler already, as you’re letting down everyone! Also, closed randomly on a Wednesday at 7pm, so writing this review in frustration in having to settle with second-best, or last-best, Marble Slab. Seriously miss the days of Azteca and House Coffee ice cream cones... seemingly to never return given the current establishment. Lame! UPDATE: the freezer is fixed and for 3 visits now Azteca has been back in stock! It’s definitely nice to have the selection back up to snuff with what it used to be - no skimping on either case due to limited space. Also have been racking up the loyalty punch-card marks!

As the kids say these day this place is FYE. For those reading this you know you can trust me. Have I ever let any of my loyal viewers down with my opinions. Not yet and the day it happens I will put down the keyboard but the day has yet to come so I’m graciously granting this fine bistro a solid 5 stars unfortunately google does not permit me more otherwise it would receive my famous unlimited stars. This is the best place to top off a fantastic night dining at one of my positively reviewed restaurants or a place to salvage a horrendous night after eating somewhere awful. The ice cream is superb and always and I mean ALWAYS fresh. You can always feel the love in every bite. This home made cream is truly made home made style. It’s not a front like most creameries. NO it’s is outstanding. The staff is fantastic. Solana and Mohammed are superb customer service experts. They really know the product and can always direct you to the best flavors. Now trust me when I say the ice cream will hit your tongue with a multitude of emotions. It brings you back to the simple days sitting on the porch sharing a scoop with grandpa listening to his tales of wisdom. It brings you back to the late night with the boys (or the girls) hanging out chopping it up over a cool cup of ice cream. To the afternoon after report cards came out and mom just wants to reward you for a stellar academic quarter. Ladies and gentlemen I give you my word. My valiant word. My sacred word. This is a must go location. This is not just an ices cream shop. It’s a shop for good feelings and great memories. Thank you to the fantastic staff who make this place what it is and make it a place I hit at least once a week. To management, Solana Mohammed, and Hector deserve a hefty raise they are THE above and beyond ice cream techs. Y’all are amazing keep at it. Love, Ilan- you’re only true honest dining...
