Our server didn't speak a lick of English. I pointed to what I wanted the menu and asked for my eggs over easy. She repeats "over easy." I said yes, thank you. She brings back scrambled eggs mixed with bacon, might I add, a hard scramble. The eggs were almost as dry as beef jerky. A second server comes over to help because she saw that there was a problem. I explained to her that the server repeated "over easy" and explained that she brought back the wrong order. They kept speaking back-and-forth and I eventually told them that I would just keep it because I was in a hurry and had to be somewhere in 20 minutes. The second server went over and talked to the manager/owner and pointed to our table while the manager/owner was eating her correctly prepared meal. I only ate my beans and potatoes because the eggs were too difficult to eat, as dry as they were. When the manager/owner rang up my meal for my table, they tried to overcharge me by adding a coffee to my ticket and did not make any effort at all to apologize or to inquire about what had happened. I still tipped 30% of my bill. Apparently the servers run the restaurant and not the manager/owner who just watches things happen in her restaurant ad she simply collects the money. I bring my family here every time I come from out of town. This was the last visit. Any place can have good food, but sub...
Read moreGot one carne guisada taco and 1 potato and egg with bacon. My carne guisada taco was loaded with pepper. I tried to eat it because I was really hungry but was unable to enjoy or even finish it due to all the pepper filled in my taco !!!! :( so I call to see if maybe I can replace my taco with something else and the lady who answered was so rude!!! She begins to tell me well that’s how we make it with a lot of pepper and she says but if you want I guess we can give you the money back if you bring back the taco. So I come buy more tacos and tell her I just want my money back for my one taco and she begins to unwrap the taco and say but you ate the taco I said I told you i tried the taco but couldn’t finish it because of all the pepper it made it so spicy!! Then she says well I can’t give you your money back. I’m like wow i come spend more money on tacos and drive all the way back to be told this after I had already told her the situation ON TOP OF THAT SHE SAID IT SO LOUD FOR EVERYONE TO HEAR AND SMIRKED. I’ve been a regular for a month now and now THIS WILL NOT BE A PLACE I GO TO OR ANY OF MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your better off going...
Read moreThe food is always hot and fresh. Some of the best homemade flour and corn tortillas in town. The salsa is chunky and served warm with hearty and warm chips. A tad on the pricey side, but the quality and quantity more than make up for it. They have really good lunch special and their breakfast is top notch. My only complaint, is service is just a little slow when wanting refills and you have to stand in line to pay vs paying your server. Other than that, great place!
01/07/2019 - This is one of my most visited Tex-Mex spots in San Antonio. I just had the Caldo de Res and it was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. It was a generous bowl of piping-hot goodness! Tender meat, vegetables cooked just right, rice on the side, and home made corn tortillas. It was just fantastic! If you’re craving some delicious hot caldo as the temperatures drop, you can’t go wrong...
