I had previously left a glowing review which I will leave below but I have to amend my overall review based on new information. I just picked up my order from the drive thru- the same order I place each week for 12 bean & cheese tacos. Today I asked for two bags of 6 each. Well, when I went to drop off the tacos to my daughter her bag didn't have six. I checked the second bag & it did have 6 tacos so I gave her that one & called the restaurant to let them know there had been a mistake and I was missing 2 tacos. This would have been totally fine & I would have been happy to stop by and pick up the other 2.
I explained what happened to the person who answered the phone, they placed me on hold & another person picked up & I explained again- then this person put me on hold & a third person picked up.
I was asked to explain again & she said she was the woman from the drive thru & she remembered my order. She then went through an elaborate explanation of how she remembered exactly putting the tacos in the bag. Basically a long way of telling me I was lying.
Well- I am sitting here with a bag of 4 tacos & not 6. So I told her when I opened the bag there were only 4 tacos. She went over her memory of packing the bag and additional two times (again basically telling me I am lying) which to me is the height of rudeness.
I understand that people do lie and take advantage of business owners & I even understand that this is a small business that can't afford to be giving things out for free. But I paid for my order & I tipped in the drive thru in cash. In fact I tip when I go through there every single week & this is the first time I have had an issue.
Which would be great right? What a solid record of getting the orders correct- except treating a customer so badly when they did in fact get the order wrong has forever tinted how I will view this place. To me how you behave when you get something wrong speaks louder than when things are going well. So no I no longer recommend this restaurant. They will not treat you with the respect you deserve if they make a mistake.

We have stopped here many times to pick up breakfast but today was the first day we stopped in to sit down for lunch. The service was excellent and the restaurant was beautiful. The food is always good. If you want a small independent restaurant- this one is a great...
Read moreI've been here 3 times now. I live around the corner and I have to say the food is ok. The prices though, wow. The first time I was cold and wet and had some menudo. They were almost closed maybe that's why I got three spoonfuls of tripe and the rest was just watery soup. Hardly any flavor. The lime wedges I had to ask for? SO dry and the edges brown. I just looked at them but I was desperate enough that I tried to get something out. There wasn't much. Maybe they'd already put everything away. The onions and cilantro were in the sane general way of wilt and dryness. I didn't have a smartphone at the time or I'd have taken a photo. Second time, I thought would be better, mid-morning, weekday during a holiday week when school was out so parents weren't in the area and I had a credit as a gift from my landlord. They didn't know that though. I had tongue tacos. Which are usually tender, juicy and tasty. I'll give them the tender. I'll give that the horchata was good, thank you for not being too sweet, just not enough cinny. But I'm not familiar with Tex-Mex horchata. I DO know tongue tacos and these weren't it. Oh, and my $10 gift voucher still put my bill at $8 though it was only myself, 2 tongue tacos, w/ corn tortillas and the horchata, med, no dessert. Yeah, you guys figure it out. Last time eating in: with my friend, I had huevos rancheros, I don't remember what he had but we figured it would come to about $14. Nope, $18. Because they charge you for EVERY REFILL of coffee. And both of us kept having them. It wasn't that the coffee was exceptional. It wasn't, it was just good. It was just as good as the restaurant El Taco De Jose (I think), and THEY don't charge you for the refills and the cups are larger! So, no more going there. And long before I began going there, I'd gone to get some tortillas, corn ones, because I was REALLY sick and could barely walk. Three tortillas, $4.25. All I had at home were some eggs and butter. Not even milk or oatmeal, so not much choice. I made those tortillas LAST. I'll never go there again, or take family. They rely on word of mouth and tradition but really, there's a better restaurant I go to these days. And the cook? He or she even does my huevos rancheros just the way I...
