El Sol Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in San Antonio

I went to this restaurant friday August 9th, 2019 around 10am. So we first get there and sit down at a booth. The last customers plates were still there. We waited five minutes for a waitress to clean the table. We got our menus and they were dirty and torn down the middle. It honestly wasnt even a menu. Finally we order our food. I ordered bean and cheese tacos and it was cold. My cheese wasnt even melted. Once we get our food my sister ask for hot sauce, and extra ice. Our waitress didnt come back for ten minutes. By the time my sister got her things my mom, and I finished eating. I ordered my son scrambled eggs, but tell me why he had big chunks of potatoes with his scrambled eggs. The eggs were watery. It's like it was potato and eggs but they tried to pick out as much potatoesas they can. I didnt even want my son to eat watery eggs. So my son wasnt feeling good, and didnt even touch his food. So when I went to the register to go and pay I told the lady Janeth who was checking me out that my son didnt even touch his food and I didnt wanna pay for something he didnt eat. She responded with "your just waiting our food you have to pay!" I told her "No i do not have to pay, and I'm sure alot of people here waste food, but my son didnt even touch yalls eggs, and they were watery with potatoes in them," she then responded too "well you have to pay for them your waiting our food" I then told her to call a manager. So when the manager comes out he tells me what the problem is. I explain everything I did to Janeth. His response "Why don't you wanna pay for these eggs? Do you wanna take them to go? You are just wasting our food!"! I told him "I dont wanna take them to go. They are nasty and my son didnt even touch them. I got stuff to do for my son for school. Your complaining about me wasting food but I'm sure you all waste food everyday on how much you cook." He said "no we dont waste food here " I said "so then do yall reheat yalls food from the day before and serve it to the customers?" He stayed quiet and said "okay I wont charge you" so when he was ringing me up, Janeth said "wow, just wasting food" I said "Ma'am if you have a problem we can take this outside!" She said "let's go!" The manager then said "Jennifer that's enough!" She then rolled her eyes.

What ever happen to the custome is always right? Also I've gone to other restaurants before where this happens, and the employee or managers are like "Okay ma'am we will go head and remove this for you."

If I can rate this a 0 I would in a heartbeat! My family freaked on how the customer service was. Especially the managers. They are so unprofessional here. I do not reccomend this place. I will be leaving this review...

Went yesterday at 2pm for the 1st time and it will definitely be my last time there. Not a good experience. It was hot inside restaurant. Table was dirty. Switched tables but the waiter never offered to clean the dirty table. We had to clean the table ourselves. Waiter finally came and brought our drinks and food. They gave my son a drink with no straw. Had to ask for a straw myself. They definitely don't anticipate your needs. The food was bad. I ordered the 3 enchilada plate. It was gross. The lettuce was washed and not drained properly my enchiladas had marks of significant water on the plate from the salad. The rice was ok but the enchilada sauce tasted like can sauce and the refried beans like can beans. We were short 1 tortilla Each of our plates came with 2 tortillas and my son had a child's plate with 1 tortilla. His child plate tortilla was missing. My mother asked for corn tortillas and we received a batch of all flour tortillas with the child's tortilla missing. I had to change my baby's diaper and the bathroom that did have a diaper changing station didn't have any light inside. The light was out and they said someone was supposed to repair it that morning. A waitress helped me hold door open and used her cell phone light so that I could see to change my baby. I thought that was nice of her but it was definitely disgusting to see a restaurant with no light inside the only bathroom who has a diaper changing station. Finally, when leaving we asked for a to go container to take the food leftovers to our dog . They charged us 2 to go containers and didn't tell us about the extra fee. my mother got food poisoning from the food that afternoon . She got diarrhea. She ate the beef and chicken fajita plate. Nobody else got sick thankfully but again everyone else got non meat plates. we all got enchilada plate except for my mom who got the fajita plate. The waitress never came to say goodbye thank you for coming nothing. Just brought the chekc and 2 to go containers. No plastic bag to carry the to go plates. The bill was expensive in my opinion for mediocre food. I dont mind paying for good food but when the food is bad and you pay for almost the same price you would pay at a higher end restaurant , it really sucks. Definitely don't recommend...

Wednesday 10.12.22 8:15 am First time ordering from this restaurant. Came in to place an order, person at register with long nails can barely type on their iPad register. Place my order of $29 for two plates, one taco, coffee and soda. They charge extra any container as to go orders, plus extras for who knows what on my receipt. (maybe for sugar and creamer for my coffee) I waited inside for my order for well over 10 minutes. I was the only one who had placed an order to go, only one waiting. Some of the staff (three ladies) decided to take I assume their break and eat a full breakfast at the table by the entrance where I was standing. Didn't even acknowledge me that I had been standing behind them for a long time waiting for my order watching them talk, laugh and eat. Some waitress had seen my order ready to go the whole time it was sitting by the lady at the register who didn't even bother to put it together, was on her phone. I thanked the waitress and even tipped her $5 for acknowledging my order and wait. I made sure to let the other ladies know who were eating in front of customers that I had been waiting for a long time and no one approached me about my to go order. First and last time going there.
