UPDATE - 12/16/22
Well, visited to get some tacos and charros atm, and just got some charros .. Prices jumped so much I cant justify eating here any more. $5 for the small cup of beans.. $10 for a plate of 4 mini tacos.. I used to get both for $10 about 6 months ago.
$15 will buy a whole sit down meal a lot of places. Pretty disappointing. These are festival prices. The food is good, but not good enough to bring me back at these prices. Sad to no longer patronize this place. Was one of my favorites.
Removing the 5 star, and dropping to 3, price vs value is way out of proportion.
I've tried a lot of food trucks and a lot of mexican restaurants and Ericks Tacos has the best Street Tacos hands down.
The food truck is open until the early hours of the morning, rain or shine. I've taken friends and co-workers to the taco truck when working late at night. It can get pretty busy on weekends, and theres a rush around the time when bars close. But during the week you can order and have your food in 10 minutes or less.
My favorite item is the Carne Asada Street Tacos, You can add extra meat by the dollar , and add white cheese. An order of 4 with $2 extra meat and cheese is about $7.50. One plate is just about enough to fill you up unless your really starving.
The tacos come with cilantro and onion, a grilled habanero peper and some radish slices. The tables have green salsa, red salsa and lime wedges on them.
In addition to the tacos, I've tried the tortas, gorditas, fish tacos, shrimp tacos, and a few of the deserts from the counter. I've also tried the street tacos with other meats and while many of the items were good, the asada street tacos are what still stand out.
The gorditas were expensive for the size. The fish and shrimp tacos needed more flavor and the other types of meat just didnt beat the asada.
More recently we tried a new item they had, I cant recall the name but it was a meat that was rotisserie with pineapple and yet again while it was good, it didnt beat the asada.
If your looking for an awesome food truck, a late night meal, and some amazing street tacos this is where...
Read moreBe very cautious! Food is not handled safely and there were multiple issues with cross contamination. Take the time to read this Erick at Erick's Tacos.
I read the reviews and It feels like everyone's eating at two different locations. Bad service and disappointing food at location 1. Great food and great service at location 2. I drive great distances for good meals and the prices at Erick's are over priced and greatly encourages me to drive further away. One comment mentioned better food down the road and I have to agree. I said the same thing to my partner moments after ingesting the food I ordered.
I rated this one star because they indeed had great beans but everything else lacked tremendously. It was a failure on preperation and I feel as though the money spent could have been better spent at Mc Donalds and I hate Mc Donalds.
My partner and I had the mini tacos. The meat was incredibly dry. Jerky has more moisture. I seriously doubt the food was fresh and I even question if it was prepared that day. The service just echoed the disappointment we experienced with the food. It was unmanaged chaos. We had to push through people to retrieve our order which was sitting on the counter as other passed money over the open food. Why I struggled to continue to eat and then opt in for desert was moronic on my part. I guess I was hoping that the crowd of customers knew something I wasn't seeing or experiencing. I realized quickly that crowds do not equate a delicious meal. I think alcohol may have infused perception and since I was sober I was highly disappointed.
I don't understand how businesses survive with food handling and service like this. I also am a little worried that inspection failed to shut this place down. It was a breeding ground for bacteria and my vomiting just summed up my disapproval.
Never again, not even for the mayo on a stick which I'm sure was supposed to contain corn somewhere, will I give this place...
Read moreThe quality of food and service has gone down since my last visit. I don't usually write reviews but the quality was so bad that I had to. The tacos had no flavor and were oil filled. Not to mention the tortillas they were served on were not it. The side veggies and limes were old and flavorless. I don't know if the recipes have been changed, but the pastor tacos tasted bland. When leaving the establishment I decided to take the only good things on the table which was my papa asada, the charro beans and green salsa (that was served to us in a Styrofoam cup). Mind you we had ordered four orders of tacos and assumed that this salsa was part of the order. When I asked for lids to go for the charro beans and salsa, upon getting back to my table and packing up my bag one of the cooks came from the food truck and said I had to pay extra for the salsa. He explained that the reason we had to pay extra was because it was a table salsa (like the ones you would have in a plastic squeeze bottle) and not a part of our order. Remember we had all used the salsa and the spoon in the cup so I don't know how many people before us had used the same salsa from that cup. I don't know about you but I don't think that is very hygienic or food safe. Overall this was an awful food and service experience, and what makes it worse is that I really liked Ericks tacos...
