I had their street tacos for 12.50, and I thought for an order of tacos, they were highly priced, but they tasted good, and I enjoyed them. I had two barbacoa and two fajita. It was nice to do half and half. They taco meat tasted nicely seasoned. The jalapeños were too mushy, and their Horchata didn’t taste good. There were two ladies and one man, and we were the only ones there, but they couldn’t even come to ask if we needed a refill. It took several times looking directly at them in hopes they turned before one of them turned around to see us, and I requested water because their fresh Horchata doesn’t taste as good as I’m used to having it at other places. It tasted like the kind you buy in a pack not fresh. The red salsa was amazing. I loved it. It’s spicy, so this is another reason why I believe they need to assure they offer us more fluids. The green salsa wasn’t good. It was bland. I also didn’t like they didn’t bring our own container of salsa. This has nothing to do with CV-19, and so many restaurants are already giving out a salsa bowl. I still hope they do well and may even consider trying another item on their menu just for the red salsa I loved. I rate it a two on this first visit based on the information provided.

As you are coming into this restaurant, the nice decoration makes a statement and impacts you with an amazing chandelier hanging from the top of the dome. The colors of choice for the design of the walls couldn’t be any more Mexican than bright pink and orange, very Michoacan style. It seems they put a special effort on their furniture because it’s very decorative and very comfortable. The ambience is quiet and conducive to a nice meal. The food is well prepared well presented and tasty. In our experience, it was nice that once a plate was served that was not to our liking, they were very gracious to offer the exchange for another plate as second choice. The staff was very friendly and served our meals promptly. We will definitely get back to try other plates and enjoy the view from the open concept windows in this corner. Although it’s open only for breakfast and lunch, we found out that now they are open Friday and Saturday nights.

Nestled within a bustling shopping complex near Alamo Heights Methodist Church, this gem of a restaurant offers convenient parking and an inviting atmosphere. The decor is tastefully simple, creating a comfortable ambiance that’s enhanced by the charming outdoor seating option. The culinary experience here is exceptional, with an array of mouthwatering dishes. The mini tacos, tortas, and puffy tacos come highly recommended, but rest assured, the menu is filled with other equally impressive selections. Chips and salsa are served with a variety of other sauces and tortilla soup, some of which are absolutely amazing Service at this establishment is attentive and commendable, adding to the overall delightful dining experience. I had the pleasure of trying their Micheladas, which, without a doubt, rank among the best I’ve ever enjoyed. Despite its modest size, this restaurant is a standout destination that’s absolutely worth a visit.

Preamble:

.. I grew up in San Antonio .. I've traveled the nation (nearly 100%) and been overseas (US Navy) .. Tex-Mex is my absolute favorite fare. .. Nowhere on Earth competes the Tex-Mex skill-set as well as San Antonio, TX. .. The most challenging and least often properly prepared item in all of Tex-Mex (imho) is my absolute favorite... Puffy Tacos (preferably beef). They do have them here.

Context:

I recently reconnected with a childhood friend who lives near, and while I was visiting from out-of-town we patroned.

Fare:

.. bar-none -- the very best puffy tacos of my entire life. There were only two, but they were so massive (!) I could honestly only finish one. The other became lunch the next day... yum yet again. .. this is Tex-Mex, and my food was professionally plated... that just never happens and it caught me off-guard. .. instead of pinto beans, I got their charro beans... truly excellent and superior to any other Tex-Mex beans I've ever had. .. the mexican rice was perfection, and the portion was generous too. .. the tortillas we got were corn... I normally favor flour... it was the right call because they were tender and succulent in the way that a flour tortilla normally outshines a corn tortilla... again, the best I've ever had. .. my only complaint (if I dare) was the chips & salsa... salsa was a bit over-hot and also light on flavor... however, the entire entrè plate was so over-the-top amazing that honestly -- I barely even noticed.

Sundry:

.. service was above professional .. restaurant was very clean .. bathrooms were immaculate .. menus need an update (presentation & pictures)

If I still lived in San Antonio I'd spend all my eating-out money in this establishment exploring their diverse menu.

I've never done this before, but this place deserves an additional star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 -- that's right, 6 stars.

Tip your servers, folks... as they are not a...
