Customer Service blew this rating, and will prevent me from returning. I see from other reviews this is a common theme for this Wurzbach location. Check Yelp and Google reviews and you will find similar complaints . The custom order was completed incorrectly, and have receipt to prove. Manager/Owner (older man) was rude and refused to correct. I guess losing a repeat customer is better than losing about $2-$3 (at most?) in ingredients. The guy shut down. His response was no, I can pick off the cheese and why should I go out of my way for a bad review. Interpreted as: I got your money to bad for you. Reason for ordering a pizza with no cheese? Child with allergy, lactose intolerant. Had to order third pizza elsewhere. Lack of compassion and respect. Why is he even work there, obviously not to serve customers. He is not a happy person. I understand it was a simple mistake, and it does not warrant a bad review. But the response/reaction does!!! Just own up and correct it. Bad Business practice and leadership!!! This could very well be why all the other stores in SA closed if he owned them, and obviously condones this behavior and leads by example (take a management /leadership course). Especially during Covid when restaurants are hurting. You would think customer service would be a priority for repeat business. He should just retire or leave the store to a real manager. Well my kids are grown, one married and one graduating college. Everyone in the immediate family and spreading by word of mouth and this review on all social media (Zomato, Google, Yelp, Facebook etc) will send a message hopefully to anyone curious and checking reviews. The only way to deal with a guy like this is to hurt the business he so does not deserve.
Response to Owner: Not surprised by your response. I can not speak for your interaction with my daughter. I came in after the fact, and we spoke very little. I too am a manager in the service industry, and have learned there is no reason to be disrespectful. Professionalism and reviews such as this are much more effective rather than causing a scene, and disgracing the business you represent. Your last remark you expected a bad review and therefore not willing to go out of your way to appease a customer. Like I said a simple mistake corrected does not require a negative review. I do not know her to be disrespectful without reason. She is a retail a assistant manager. You provided an excellent example of what not to be (I reinforced this lesson). You could have handle the situation better; instead, you were no better than what you claim her to have been. Lets review other complaints against your location. Appears to be a pattern (looks like everyone is wrong but you?): Google: greg richter - Bad customer service in a customer service. Lawrence Walker III - one star! angel arce - horrible. this management is lucky they could even get one star. Ashley Ayala - First experience - Older man hassled me entire ordering process was accompanied by a snarky attitude. Second Experience: completely wrong pizza. Third experience: same older man again hassled me Response from the owner - 6 months ago - Please take your business elsewhere. Briana M. - one star! Smiteus36 - the employees are very rude on the phone. john harris - left off the pepperoni. lettuce is brown. meal was ruined. uncorrected. John Olvera - the manager or owner really has to change his attitude! Wan Cho - one star! eric radick - manager couldn't be bothered to walk from the back and talk to me either corey ingmire - brain dead employees. First and last time. Andrew Klein - (Response to owner): Your callous attitude was appalling. Clint Trowbridge - The manager incompetence just might keep me from becoming a repeat customer Yelp: (7 of 21 reviews 3 stars or less) Emmanuel F. - The owner is very rude. No customer service. I remember a couple of months ago I walked in and a customer was telling him he wasn't very nice to customers. I understand now. Tanisha S. - tragic was the customer service...
Read moreI have been a huge Papa Murphy’s fan for a long time. My long time location was in Corpus Christi. After moving to the San Antonio area I searched and discovered this was the closest location to me. The first time I visited was during the Covid debacle. So the sign on the door wanted customers to order online. I don’t mind ordering online, but I really like that interaction with employees and even the owners (like I did in Corpus). So I chalked it up to Covid and did what they asked. Well yesterday (12-27-22), I was on that side of town and wanted to grab a pizza for dinner. Once again there is a sign on the door informing customers no orders will be taken in person. Only online. It was lunchtime so went next door to Tommy’s. While enjoying Lunch, I did my ordering online. Had issues with the app. After several tries, finally was ready to check out. The app informed me I had a coupon for $16 for my birthday. I’m like “heck yeah!” Well that coupon gave me about 15 minutes of frustration. Ended up I was not able to use it. After finishing my lunch I went next door to pick up my pizza order. When I walked in, I explained to the gray haired man behind the counter about the coupon issue. He literally looked at me like I wasn’t there. He offered nothing. I have a feeling this is the owner. I am truly not sure why he is in business. Obviously he doesn’t want to deal with customers. No in person ordering, no customer service. I’m surprised he doesn’t have a small window to retrieve your order from. Sadly after the experience yesterday, I’m done with Papa Murphy. Unless another location is opened in San Antonio, I will be buying from other pizza places. If you have read this far, thanks for listening to me and I hope you find a good pizza place that appreciates...
Read moreSo on 6/18/18 I ordered a 14" pizza and a cinnamon wheel. Mistakes happen and there was HAIR on both my items. I like Papa Murphy's a lot so rather than get angry I called and asked to speak with their manager in charge, Jim (owner). Jim was out of town for a family emergency, I finally discovered once I spoke with him 12 days later, and never got back to me. I finally got a hold of him on 6/30 and after explaining what happened his resolution was to replace my cinnamon wheel. "I find it hard to believe that there was hair on 2 items."
Ok...well, there was. And he was only willing to replace the dessert. Terrible attitude for a small business owner.
Ray's pizza is down the street and it's far superior. Little Italy is even closer than Ray's and they're pretty good too. Give your money to a business that cares about good relationships with customers.
Edit (Response to owner): You are a bold-faced liar. You said nothing of this to me on the phone. You are trying to save face for the public. You also didn't ask me any information about the order including the phone number I used to place said order. Your callous attitude was appalling.
Verbatim, your response was, "my excuse for not responding to you was being out of the store." God forbid, as a business owner, you have some kind of communication with your few employees. I mean, it's 2018 and I'm sure you have a cell...
