Where do I begin with this place. So I’ve lived in the area for over a year and drive by this place all the time. Well I remembered it was open late so I decided to try it out since I was craving some late night eats. Went online and found the website and ordered from there. I was a bit surprised at the prices but figured they were expensive due to the late night convenience. I ordered the 6pc wings with sweet mango, calamari and the fried mushrooms. All in all those 3 items were over $40! I paid it anyway and placed the order. Got my confirmation email and the was given a pick up time. Then got another email after which pushed my pickup time back almost 20 minutes. So when I was on my way I get a call they no longer have the sweet mango (SO TAKE IT OFF YOUR MENU!) and offered me another flavor. I had already paid and was on my way so settled for Garlic Parm. I get there and go to the counter and let them know my name and was told by the gentleman it would be right up. As I was looking over the menu I noticed the prices they had in store were $4-$5 LESS than what I was charged online. When I questioned this I was told there is a fee for ordering online but no fee if done in person or over the phone. Then I saw their wings come with fries and a dipping sauce. When I asked about the fries I was told by the lady at the counter the fries only came with the wings if you ordered in store or by phone. Like WTF?!? So you charge me almost $4-$5 for a six piece online and then it doesn’t even come with the fries that it would come with if I ordered it in house? Can someone make that make sense how they charge more yet you get less food and why they aren’t consistent with the orders regardless how it’s done? Then as I got my food the lady at the counter wants to hassle me about checking out the food or scanning my app or whatever like I was an Uber/Doordash driver. I told her to was picking up my own food and she looked confused so I just left. Then I get home and the food was horrible. The calamari was overcooked and dry. The mushrooms were the frozen kind but not cooked all the way through and were mush in the middle and the wings…yeah my 6 piece wings came with FIVE WINGS ONLY!!!! What a HUGE disappointment and that’s because they took an extra 25 minutes on my order than the time I was...
Read moreFirst off, smells absolutely delicious inside the store, in fact, even before you walk inside, you can smell the amazing food. The food truly was amazing, however I paid 2.07 for extra cheese…didn’t receive extra cheese at all. Not to mention, for the wings, you get an option of 2 flavors, I chose garlic parm & lemon pepper. I chose blue cheese and bbq for my DIPPING sauces…instead I didn’t receive any dipping sauces, and they gave me BBQ, lemon pepper, and garlic parm for my wings…I thought I was going crazy but I looked back and I didn’t mess up, I ordered it how I wanted. I suppose they didn’t really pay attention to my order and just saw “bbq” and assumed “oh okay for the wing sauce.” When no…that’s not what I ordered, nor what I wanted. However besides that, the pizza was absolutely delicious and amazing, the crust wasn’t too much, the toppings (besides being charged for extra cheese but not getting it.) were delectable, especially the sausage and mushrooms. I wish the pepperoni was thicker, but oh well.
Overall it’s amazing, I definitely want to try it again, however I am disappointed for being overcharged for something I didn’t receive and my wings being messed up and not getting my sauces.
Oh! But the desserts! They had a pistachio pie(?) and a limoncello one. The limoncello was a tad too sweet, but would be amazing with sone black coffee. The pistachio? Oh my god. Amazing. I wish they served bigger slices or whole cakes of it…because wow….one of the best desserts I’ve ever tried.
Again, I’d have given it 5 stars had they not messed up the wings, and I wasn’t charged for extra cheese when I didn’t get any. I’m willing to give them another try..but I suppose I should order in store to hopefully make sure I’m not overcharged for items I don’t receive. But overall, I’d absolutely recommend them. And PLEASE try their pistachio pie/dessert. It tasted like clouds melting on your mouth with a beautiful pistachio flavor. Almost like a sponge cake, but it’s layered? I’m interested in trying their pastas. Oh and the sausage they use is amazing. As is...
Read moreI'm a Doordash driver and first discovered this cool little hole in the wall pizza spot when I began getting a lot of orders from there. The first time I walked in to pick up an order the owner was taking an order while simultaneously talking baby talk to his child on the phone. He explained to us that he was saying hi to his baby while at work. It was very sweet. This is a family owned place where kids use chalk to draw all over the wall sized chalkboard on one wall of the restaurant and the owners wife decorated the restaurant for him on his birthday. The restaurant features small number of high chairs and tables as well as bench seating, and a black and red checker theme. It is almost hidden around the corner from a Valero store across the street from Churchill high school and there is a barber shop to its left. The staff are all attentive and friendly. There is never an unreasonable amount of time to wait on food and the menu is great. All kinds of pizza and pasta, some sandwiches desserts and it features shwarma, a middle eastern specialty meat similar to gyro, as well as delicious baklava. The owner and staff are all attentive to detail. Making sure customers have what they requested. Once I told the owner a certain repeat customer had a request and he informed me he had already added it because Mr. x ordered it each week. Pizza Break is also open late, until 2am and 3am on Saturdays. These people are kind and hardworking and the food is delicious, hot and prepared well. The restaurant is clean and you can tell they take pride in this spot. I hope to see Pizza Break thrive there for many years to come. One suggestion I would make is to perhaps offer pizza by the slice, especially when Churchill highschool begins fall semester. They might become so busy then that they have to move to a bigger location. But this delightful hole in the wall has charm to spare. Definitely worth visiting and...
