We came in to enjoy the bruschetta board and wine special. My wife has an extreme allergy to sesame and egg, therefore we had a board made with foccia bread because it’s egg free. We were extremely careful explaining to our server about the allergies. Our server not only didn’t specify to the kitchen on the ticket nor anyone preparing the food that they were dealing with allergy, the kitchen staff doesn’t clean their knife after cutting the bread to the next, therefor they are cross contaminating all the other allergies to the next bread they are cutting. The server needed help ringing in the order therefor there was a breakdown of coherency in handling an allergy that no one caught. It took the staff about 10 minutes to get a manager over to help with the problem though they did provide a Benadryl and comped the check, although that doesn’t change the allergic reaction due to incoherency and neglect of staff. I hope that the manager is able to express the dangers of allergies when dealing with other peoples foods to a point that this will not happen to other people. The vibe was great the food tasted great as well and the manager was great to meet even under the circumstances, although it doesn’t change the fact that even after 30 minutes no management has even told the kitchen manager or anyone else preparing the food to at the very least wipe the knife off before cutting other foods. The picture is to show the lack of concern to cleaning off the knife before cutting a different food. Up date! I have never seen a restaurant with such leadership skills, desire and staff when a problem is brought to them take full responsibility in every aspect from staffing to calling to make sure that my wife was ok. We came back to give it a try and it was fabulous! The allergy was rang in with the ticket, followed with not only the manager verifying the allergy but our server verified the severities of it as well. All the safe guards have been implemented to keep people safe from cross contamination. The food and environment was full of flavor and now if you have a allergy it can be enjoyed as well. Thank you for caring for our allergies and making our dining experience so great Jlieve and all...
Read moreI have been fortunate enough to have visited the San Antonio Postino location twice in the last week. Monday and Friday respectively . I had a lovely experience each time. On my first occasion-a happy accident-, I arrived early in the day with my mother for lunch. The manager introduced himself and made sure we had a good experience. He offered us a complimentary bruschetta. It was green apples with Brie and fig. It was fantastic. And that says a lot because I don’t typically like Brie. We also shared a Caesar salad and the skewers. The meat on the skewers (chicken and beef) was tender and delicious. Additionally, our salad had already been split into two separate bowls. I really appreciated that attention to detail. Many restaurants don’t offer that service. We also shared a bottle of the Holly’s Way, Chardonnay. Yum! My mom and I had a great time, enjoying the food, hospitality, music, and atmosphere. We both vowed to come back soon. Not to disappoint my circle, I brought my brother and sister on Friday night. We had an outstanding experience. There was a slight wait of about 30 minutes to get a table as the restaurant was exceedingly busy. While we waited, a server came and asked us if we wanted anything but shortly there after we were called to our table. The restaurant uses a team approach to serving, so you’re not forgotten when it comes to needing assistance. We ordered a smorgasbord of dishes because we wanted to try many items from the menu. We enjoyed the following: the skewers the cheeseboard the meatballs in tomato sauce, sprinkled with goat cheese (my brother’s favorite) the smoked salmon plate (my sister’s and I personal favorite) We also shared a bottle of the Holly’s Way, Chardonnay. The food was savory and well prepared. The staff was kind and friendly, and took care of our needs. The ambience of the restaurant was top-notch. I really like how they have it decorated. The bar is beautiful, decked out with marble and brass. I look forward to sitting in some of the plush soft-seating, areas as well as the outdoor seating. I would definitely recommend this establishment to friends and family. I look forward to...
