Very meh. Came here for brunch on 10/15/23 at the recommendation of a friend who loved the fried chicken. When we were seated on the patio there was only 1 other couple there who were getting their food as we getting our menus. Everything started out well.
Waitress answered our questions took our drink order and was really friendly. She came back to take our food order and she brought the drinks and then she didn't come back to us for awhile. Then we noticed the patio area started to fill up and people that came after us, were getting food. We had to get our waitresses attention for her to come over and ask about our food to which she said "they're plating it now".
My friend ordered the half bird with mac n chicken and I ordered the fried catfish with fires and a side of red beans and rice. The waitress brought us our food and we started eating and she didn't come back again. My friend didn't receive her mac and cheese, I didn't receive a biscuit. I also wanted some ketchup and a spoon for my rice and beans. My friend called for our waitress when we seen her walk by but she didn't hear us. A few minutes later another waitress who seen asked if we needed anything and we let her know what we were missing.
My friend liked her chicken as she did before. My food wasn't bad but it was very flavorless. Like not an herb, garlic, salt/pepper, nothing. My fish was hot when it came out. The rice and beans was room temp. I think the sides had been sitting while the fish was cooking, idk. Nothing was bad at all, just somewhere I'd be comfortable taking someone with dietery restrictions.
Everything else went smoothly, we were able to get to go boxes and the check from our original waitress. My final note though was that we weren't the only table having problems as I overheard the manager at the next table offering a replacement so the "customers didn't go home hungry". I didn't hear what the issue was but they were...
Read moreMy friends and I went to Southerleigh - Haute South at The Rim. The wobbly table (table #33) we were sitting on didn’t have that much room on it. There was a paper towel holder, ketchup, salt, pepper, hot sauce and other things in another holder that was taking up more than half of the table. Three of my friends ordered the 1 bird with two sides, and I ordered the shrimp po-boy. After we ordered we asked if we could be moved to a larger table. Our waiter, Cesar M, said he would go check. He came back and told us he couldn’t move us to that table because there was a reservation coming to sit at that table. I told him we also had a reservation.
Once our food came out, we had the waiter that brought us our food, take away the holder that held the ketchup, salt, pepper, hot sauce and other things and I put the paper towel holder on the ground. We still didn’t have room. We looked at another table and they also ordered the one bird and two sides, however, their food was on a food riser stand similar to a pizza riser. So they had room for their plates since their food was above everything else. We called our waiter, Cesar M, back to our table. We asked him if he knew we wanted to move tables because our table was too small? He said yes he understood and was sorry he couldn’t move us. We then told him to look at table 41, we asked why didn’t he put the one bird and two sides tray on a food raiser? He said oh I didn’t think of that.
My recommendation to Southerleigh - Haute South is to make sure all waiters know they have food riser stands/pizza risers. So if a table orders a meal that comes on a large tray to please put their food on a food riser stand/pizza riser so they can have room at their table. Please do this or order larger tables.
Other than this, our food was really good. I enjoyed my po-boy.

Read moreWe had an amazing time. Our server was "J" and she was amazing. She made us feel welcome and was so much fun. If you go here ask for her you will not be disappointed. The place is so cute and quaint and reminded me of my time in Georgia. We tried a variety of products for our "gal-entine" with my daughter. She had a frozen peach mimosas (you can get any flavor you want) and I had orange juice. We tried the 🍩 donut minus the strawberry (I am allergic and they took it off for me), we tried the sausage hush puppies that were huge and delicious. We had the chicken, bacon egg sandwich. There was so much food. We also have to HIGHLY recommend the hand pies we took them home but they were sooooo good. They have several flavors. Worth the money for huge quanity and quality. The manager was amazing as well. Everyone was having fun 🙃 do yourself a favor and try this amazing place!!!
2/19/22 Update: went back today with my husband to see if it was a once in a lifetime experience or not. I am happy to report it was not. It was just as amazing as it was the first time. We did not have J but we did have Ariel who was so sweet. We tried some different things. My husband had the meatloaf pie which was good and the garlic potato wedges. These were amazing!! We also had our favorite manager John who helped us out. He was just as delightful as the first time. He even remembered me which was impressive. He is in the picture. We took pies home of course. Do yourself a favor and order some pies even if you are full and take them home. You will not be disappointed!! Thank you for the warm...
