On December 20, 2024 I placed a to-go order with the HopDoddy location at 17623 La Cantera Pkwy Suite 101, San Antonio, TX 78257. When I got home, I found all of the following items wrong with my order:
Two of the burgers I requested bacon for (and paid extra for) had no bacon on them. On one of the burgers (the one with no cheddar cheese), they incorrectly put a regular bun on it instead of the gluten free bun that was requested. A person in our party has severe allergy to eggs and dairy/cheese and the bun is made with eggs. The special instructions shown on our receipt even said “Please no cheese or egg products.” underneath this item. On the burger where a gluten free bun with no cheese was requested there was sauce on it. Again sauces are typically made with eggs and/or diary products which our party member has a severe allergic reaction to. Additionally, the instructions said to put the sauce on the side as another party member would have liked it. We asked for no pink in two of the burgers and there was definitely pink in both of them. With so many things wrong in this order, how do we know we got grass fed patties (instead of regular patties) that we requested and paid for (they charge $2.00 extra for grass fed patties)?
I tried to call the store location to speak with a manager, however, all I got was an automated system/bot that said “Hello this is Sarah at X location, how may I help you.” Went I spoke into the phone nothing happened and eventually the system just hung up on me. This happened several times. I also tried to contact your other San Antonio location at 1301 N Loop 1604 W #101, San Antonio, TX 78258 and again got the same automated system that did the same thing.
This has been a terrible experience and I’ve wasted a lot of time writing the company and this review. The only reason we went to this place was because they are one of the few in San Antonio that offer grass fed beef, but sadly after this experience, we’ll have to...
Read moreAfter watching a movie me and my friends stopped in because we were hungry and we had never been to hop daddy’s. On their to go bag it reads good stuff inside. Unfortunately we didn’t find any good stuff inside. First of all I’d like to say that I’m not upset im just disappointed because I had heard many great things about hopdaddys. We all ordered burgers but it being our first time we had no idea that you had to buy everything separate and the cashier didn’t let us know so by the time our food finally came that’s when we realized the nearly $15 price we paid was only for the burger. That’s another problem. We waited nearly 40 minutes for our food. With this I understand if it’s a busy night but it was moderately busy and people that ordered food after us were getting theirs before us. I went to the front and noticed multiple burgers on a table getting cold while multiple employees including a manager stood around the burgers talking and laughing. I thought surely those burgers belonged to someone else and that they were still working on our order so I took my seat. Nearly 40 minutes after we ordered my friends food finally came. The burgers were cold. The burgers I had seen just lying on the table getting cold were indeed our burgers. Unfortunately we won’t ever be returning. I brought the issue up to the manager and he was nice but I had to leave but in hopes that the owners read this just know hot food must go out and employees should not just be standing around talking while hot food is in front of them getting cold. As a manager myself this is basic stuff that employees should know. It doesn’t look good for the business. Your customers are paying a decent amount to get good hot food and good service and if they can’t get that then why should the customers give you their business? Please improve on these things because I always want businesses to succeed especially during...
Read moreSecond review... Thank you Joseph for reaching out to make things right.
First, I'll say going to the restaurant is a far better option than ordering it to be delivered. I emphasize... Avoid delivery if you can!!! Keep in mind that you're paying a premium price for a gourmet/trendy burger experience that can be completely ruined by a clamshell and 10 minutes worth of travel. The shake and fries are not really meant to "wait".
The parmesan truffle fries are unique and flavorful. I'm not particularly fond of shoestring (thin) fries as they lose heat quickly, and become hard. This proved to be true here as well. The dipping sauce seemed unnecessary as the fries do have a very good flavor profile. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor of the sauce. I could do with or without and be equally satisfied.
The shake was flavorful but still lacked thickness. I could have just as easily drank it through a standard straw as the jumbo thickness straw provided. I don't think it sat for 10 minutes prior to coming to me. But it drank as if a nice thick shake had done just that.
The Double Bacon Jam burger. I asked for pink. There was none. I'm not complaining as I understand that's difficult to achieve consistently with "thinner" patties. And despite not having any pink, they were juicy and flavorful. So to me, its a plus that you don't need a little pink to get that juicy flavor you're seeking, especially being thin patties. The bun was solid. And the "jam" wasn't really my thing. Next time, I'll opt for a different choice to find a flavor profile to my liking. Again, this is just a preference thing.
In short, a much different experience from the first time (delivery, that still had a couple of quality issues to accompany). Will I go back? Sure, if the party I'm hanging with wants to check it out. Will I order it to be brought to my work that's less than 10...
