5 Stars – Sam's Club on Military Drive, San Antonio:
Where do I begin? Sam's Club on Military Drive is like the Costco of dreams. If you’ve ever wanted to buy 400 rolls of toilet paper in one go and have your entire family set for a lifetime, this is your mecca. It's bulk shopping at its finest. Need 10 gallons of ketchup? They’ve got you covered. You can’t go wrong with a place where you can leave with a 55-inch TV, a gallon of pickles, and a kayak. It's like the supermarket equivalent of a treasure hunt, except every "treasure" is something you’ll use until your great-grandchildren inherit it.
Compared to its rivals (Costco, BJ’s), Sam's Club on Military Drive stands out for its clean aisles, courteous staff, and sheer sense of adventure. I’ve never felt more like I was on a secret mission—sneaking around with a cart that looks like a small spaceship, filled with bulk items and snacks I never knew I needed.
And don’t even get me started on the samples. Forget gourmet dining, I had a three-course meal of mini-pizza slices, chicken nuggets, and a protein bar. Now that's a balanced diet, my friends.
Sam’s Club isn’t just a shopping experience; it’s an event. The prices are so low, your wallet will think it's on vacation. Highly recommend for those who want to stock up on everything from hand sanitizer to giant bags of trail mix and maybe even find a few things you didn’t know you needed in the process. A+ would shop again—and possibly purchase 10 18 packs of Natural Light...
Read more9/10 people that shop there don't even have their own membership card or their card is always expired. This holds up the lines for the ones who pay our membership on time. Also, the people who shop here DO NOT know how to supervise their kids. There are kids roaming around everywhere and the parents do nothing to stop them. Also, when you check out know how much is on your EBT card because that's what everyone pays with, but then again this is the southside & everyone depends on the government funding to run their Ice Cream trucks. The floor associates are real nice and helpful. Management does nothing when there is a complaint or concern. The gas station attendant Mike is a complete perv and hits on women and makes them feel uncomfortable, I know this from experience. If this is the closest club you go to it is worth the extra drive to get away from these cheap, fresh off the border, dirty, "members". If they stopped accepting EBT their business would be gone. The lines are always long & people never know what they want, why take up clothing if you can't afford it? The business members that shop there think they are partial owners of the club because they spend so much money there but they are very rude ESPECIALLY if you're in their way or take what they want (from experience again). The associates however, they work with the best they have. They're the reason for the two stars, they seem to make the best of a bad situation and push through it for the...
Read moreDisappointing New Member Experience!!!! The clerk at the membership desk was not friendly or attentive, she had my driver's license which shows the spelling of my first name and still spelled it wrong. ( No attention to detail at all) She never even said Welcome to Sam's Club or Thank you for becoming a new member. "I now realized why I missed Costco already". This locations Snack Bar area is filthy, The floors were dirty, tables as well and they only had 1 member sitting down eating in the dining area. There were 3 employees working in the kitchen area . It's surprised me that they have this dirty snack bar right across from to the membership desk. Not a good look at all. Visited again, 04/19/19- I would never order cake in there bakery, there were so many flies in that area...It made me nauseous. The snack bar had about 20 people in line , 1 cashier and two employees talking while visibly trying to open 1 small box together. What happened to quick customer service? Then once you got to the line the lady announced we don't have ice cream and most everyone disbanded ( couldn't you just had least put a sign stating we are out of ice cream instead of people waiting and waiting in line to finally find out once they get to the beginning of the line this information. Worst Sam's...
