Sea Island Shrimp House — Restaurant in San Antonio

Not sure what all hype is about with Sea Island, but for me this place did not cut it!! Came here today for a birthday party. I ordered their shrimp gumbo soup, (bland no flavor at all, the soup had 2 giant shrimp thrown in there, looking gross, and the okra was soggy) the coconut shrimp and hush puppies appetizers, YUCK!!! close to $8 for what seemed like 4 shrimp, that had no flavor of coconut what so ever, I saw the flakes but I tasted more so the oil, 2 bland (regular tasting bread) hush puppies, and what is suppose to be a coconut dipping sauce. To say the least, I was not impressed at all!! I also had their "stemed veggies", which by the way is ONLY 1 veggie, which is zucchini, which I received EXTREMELY SOGGY! & a Greek salad, that probably was the only item I liked on the menu. My spouse did not touch one bit of their plate, the fish was cold!! & the rice had no flavor!! Is this what people have come to? Lowering their sea food standard?? My children had to have BOTH their chicken tender strips sent back because, their chicken was not fully cooked!! It was RAW on the inside!! I did not bring this issue up to the manager because I did not want to interrupt my time from my family members party. The simple fix; my money will not be spent here in the future.

The food was great. It was good and hot. Fish is hard to keep hot but it was very hot which is how we like it. The lemon pepper seasoning was just right. Truly great experience.

We went for dinner today. We had grilled shrimp and lemon pepper fish. The staff was very nice and the restaurant was very clean and organized. The tables were separated limiting close contact . This made for a more enjoyable dinner for us. The meal was excellent with just the right amount of seasoning. The prices have gone up since my last visit. I would say that this is normal given supply chain issues and difficulty finding people willing to work. I still feel I am getting value for the money and will continue to eat there. This is my January 26th update. This is for the store om military drive by southpark mall. We once again had the grilled shrimp and lemon pepper fish, our favorite. Everything was cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of seasonings. The service staff was efficient but the wait to order was a little longer than normal as only one register was being utilized. They no longer serve draft beers, only bottled....

Great place Good Food Great service. Excellent place to bring the family and good fried seafood. My kids had the fried chicken tenders and my mom had the grilled chicken sandwich fresh lettuce not dry good cook on the chicken and not soggy or nor greasey. Just perfect. Me and my sister had the fried fish platter rice and French fries. Tasted awesome. Everything fresh and fried the way I like it. Like how I can get a refill myself of soda, crisp soda mmmmm. There was a extra fish under my fish when i orderedthe 2 fish platter, but hey i ain't complaining. Liked how it was family friendly. Kids eat free Thursdays and my kidos had plenty of fries on their plate and did not complain about their chicken tenders. They ate everything so good. Definitely coming back from this experience. I also enjoyed how this is not a smoke up place so it smelled great walking in. It didn't smell like old oil and old fish coming in first good impression it smelled great.
