The Burger Boy, as a chain, is in my category of "slop burgers". I know that sounds bad but sometimes you just want a messy burger. Think Whataburger, Brenda's Burgers, Griff's from the area and you get the idea, very meat forward and greasy.
Expect the ratio of the toppings and bread to be far lower than the beef. If you want a flavour experience, this and others in the category will not meet your expectations.
What to expect, a good greasy and easy to eat burger. Hot fries are consistently good here, but sometimes they skimp on filling up the bags compared to other locations.
Something else I noticed about this location is the spinning sign, a Burger Boy stand out, doesn't spin. Sometimes this bothers me enough I drive to the OG location on St. Mary's. I feel it adds a bit of character, magic even, to dining experience to just sit down and watching the world go by past the spinning sign.
I would like to point out that the staff here is very friendly and engaged and I really appreciate them. It shows on how clean the place is, windows clear, restrooms very well taken care of, drink station almost always spotless and not sticky.
Things I'd like to see improved: Turn the sign on Consistently in volume of fries. Be generous in portion I saw another review about salt/pepper/seasoning of things...I'd have to agree. Address this with the kitchen. Season a reasonable amount, leave the rest up to those that want more. If they're taste testing throughout (which they should be) they're palettes will adjust and cause them to over season. The drink station is a bit crowded, when bussing tables or running expo to the dinging room, if staff can ask other tables if they would like refills to reduce the amount of people blocking the pathway.
Things I love about this location: The outdoor seating. The indoor bar seating Staff seem...
Read moreCame in 2/24 it has been open a week and a few days by now. Outside is very nice, inside is clean and many tables not crowded when I came in, there is also window seating like the original South Saint Mary's place. The cashier was friendly and nice, I let her know that I used to go to the Original and only one left on St.Marys street, I always ordered the bates burger with cheese, and man those crinkle fries were the best it was my favorite place to have a burger otherthana place called Paul Marie's off of Zaramora st. So this burger was hot nice melted cheese and my fries were not salty which is great were hot. Food was good but there is something missing don't know what it is, I do like the burger cooked very well not dry. One thing that made me laugh as a person that loves the old place was that the restrooms are still just one room, but thank goodness Not a closet type and has plenty of space to change a baby or have a wheel chair in there! Lol 😆 It is a very nice place to get a nice burger however not for the old price of $6 something those were great prices but we don't live in those prices any longer and so we moved one!! 😉 I will come back because I do like this burger place and next time I will eat outside just like the old place, I hope they will add more outdoor seating on the other side soon cause summer is coming?? Lol 😆 👍👍👍 Many Blessing...
Read moreSo I want to share my experience with this particular Burger Boy location. A while back we had a terrible experience with another location. We wanted so bad to get the Burger Boy experience that everyone is talking about. When we arrived the drive thru was full of at least 10 or more and we decided to dine inside.when we got to the register to order I voiced my past experience with two young workers who then referred me to Eddie who is a Manager. Eddie took time to here me out and his response was I will not even tell my cooks back there for any special changes or attention to your order but will visit with you once your done. I thought that was a great start since he had so much confidence in his staff. We also got to meet Elias who came by our table before we got our order and handed us a shake to sample and mention he overheard me talking about a bad experience and said " I know this time will be right" not once but twice both Eddie and Elias visit with us and instantly made us feel welcomed and showed the friendly culture one should experience. Our food was hot, cooked perfect to order and of course the service was outstanding. If you have ever had a bad experience please give this location a try and I can guarantee you it will be better and great. THANK YOU...
