Soundcheck, EL Volcan, Desperados — Restaurant in San Antonio

We came to visit S.A. with 4 other couples to celebrate my husband's bday from Dallas. After a nice dinner at J-Prime Steakhouse we decided to give Desperados a try. I called earlier in the day to verify what type of music they played and they told me a mixture of everything. We show up with a ridiculously long line and paid $50 for valet to skip the line and paid $150 at the door to get in. No one informed us that we were to wear the mask the entire time, bought 3 buckets of beer ($120) and went to the back bar to order shots (which we ordered) & ALMOST spend $250 on a valet section until i verified what the dj would be playing on that night which was all Norteño. So we decided not to, originally all we wanted to do was have a few drinks and shots with our friends to continue celebrating my husband's bday but then he got marked (as a warning) like we're children to keep track of any disobeying orders or something. Very disturbing & uncomfortable! The bartender kept serving others instead of finishing our shots so we decided to leave. Never again will we return. Let me just say this.. We are completely aware of having to take precautions with this entire pandemic we're all facing however in Dallas, it's nothing like this. They went overboard with the security...

I cannot wait to return to this establishment. Being handicap I tend to be a bit anxious about going out to bars and clubs. Often because parking isn’t easy to find and in crowded places it’s hard to maneuver with a walker. I was pleasantly surprised that sound check had plenty of parking and the Owner and staff went above and beyond to make sure my party and I had amazing time . The Owner went out of his way to greet me at the entrance and escort us to a table , throughout the night he came several times to make sure I was enjoying myself. He takes a pride in making sure he has created an amazing environment for all to feel welcome and safe and have an amazing time , which we absolutely did! Everyone so polite and attentive. I think it’s show so much character that he stays open later to allow his clientele to continue dancing while also deterring violence at whataburger and drunk driving because you have up to three hours to sober up with water and also tacos from the stand outside. If that isn’t someone who cares for their community I don’t know what is. Thank you so much to everyone at Sound check for allowing me to have such an amazing experience!

if i had the option to put zero stars i would! my friend and his family were ASSAULTED in this club!! i saw plenty of evidence on what went down last night. owner was so rude like how can you be an owner of an establishment and yet you have no people skills!? you should be ASHAMED of yourself the way you treated my friend and his family and actually other people who have gone through the exact same experience. if anyone wants to come here? please don’t there’s far BETTER clubs like the clubs on st. mary’s st.! que aso! i am so livid! and disgusted! i’ve seen a few reviews that are 5-4 stars please don’t listen to them! it’s not worth it, take your business and money else where babes! and as for the owner, trust you will...
