Starbucks — Restaurant in San Antonio

I am hard of hearing, and it was cold outside. I felt comfortable sitting in my car at the drive-thru. I ordered a birthday cake and another spicy falafel pocket that I couldn’t pronounce. When I reached the drive-thru window, I asked the employee if I could show him the spicy falafel pocket since I was having trouble understanding him.

He continued speaking, but I couldn’t hear him clearly. So, I drove up to the window, and he asked me to come outside instead of serving me from inside. I explained that I was comfortable in my car and didn't want to deal with the cold weather. I still wanted my birthday cake and the spicy falafel.

He kept insisting that I come to the window outside. I felt upset and triggered because I perceived this as discrimination. I’m sorry that I am deaf and cannot express my feelings clearly. Eventually, I gave up, only took the birthday cake, and left without getting to enjoy my hot meal. I won’t be returning to this place again, as I don't appreciate the discrimination or disrespect towards those who are deaf or hard of hearing.

I am a regular at this place and recently have started seeing some new faces. I love the older staff! Today I stopped by to get my quick fix of caffeine and I usually ask for an extra cup of ice because I don’t feel my drinks are ever mixed to my liking. That’s not a big deal to do pour my drink into another for a better mix. My issue today was that new face I saw at the window passed me a cup of water and when i apologized and said it was just ice. He seemed bothered, turned around and poured the water out the cup into the sink. Then gave me the cup. There were little pieces of melted ice filling the cup a third of the way. I pulled out to park so I wouldn’t be in the way and spilled some of my drink. I got off and asked for more ice. This was not what I was expecting. Went there today 4/16 at about 1:45 pm and ordered a drink ,when I came to the window ,I asked the lady very politely if I can have a small ice water as well ,she got mad and put the coffee on the ledge and the payment device she slammed it on the ledge and asked to answer the tip question in the machine and before I could ask her what her problem was she closed the window and never came back ,her partner did come and gave me the ice water and he was very polite and told him if I could have a straw cause the rude woman didn’t give me one but I’ve never had a issue at this location and I love going there and never seen this woman before but I’m sure if the boss reads this ,they can figure out who she was and hope she gets a little talk about customer service.
