I typically will make my own lumpia but I needed some in a pinch and Susies sells frozen of what they serve in the restaurant. I’ve had the lumpia in their restaurant and it is good ,that wasn’t the problem. The problem is I left work during my lunch hour to buy two bags. I get to the restaurant, I select my two bags among several that were in their freezers only be told by one of the employees that I can’t buy them because they’re running low. I understand that they probably use what they sell to fill their buffet, but failing on your part to plan and execute successfully so that none of your customers are turned away is not my fault or problem. You should have either pulled the product So that customers don’t come in and open the freezer and find the item only to be told they can’t buy it, or at least put a sign on your doors to the freezers that say lumpia is not for sale. Making it available for a customer to take from the freezers with the expectation that they can buy it only to be turned away is not conducive to good hospitality. What a shame. You have turned a loyal customer...
Read moreMy family and I stopped into Susie’s Lumpia House on Sunday. This was the BEST homemade and authentic food we’ve had while here in San Antonio! No wait for seating. But the place did get super packed quick. Buffet had a lot of options, but isn’t a self serve buffet. Someone serves you the portions but you can go back as many times as you would like. (My guess is to keep from food wasting) Food was AMAZING! Temperature was on point and flavor was fire! The buffet only comes with water. Yea and soft drinks are extra. I still asked for a glass of ice with my soda. Desserts were also included in the buffet, the flan was the perfect finish to an AMAZING meal. Price wasn’t too bad. $87 for 4 of us with extra drinks. They have karaoke nights and a huge stage on the opposite side of the restaurant. And a small market with lots of Filipino goodies! Super neat place to visit. We will most certainly come again. Susie was also very personable! She came around to all the tables to see how everything tasted. She gave us a nice comfy...
Read moreMy husband and I visited this restaurant for lunch, expecting a buffet experience. However, it wasn’t what we anticipated. Instead of serving ourselves, we had to stand behind the buffet table and wait for the staff to serve us, which was frustrating given the limited selection available.
When we wanted to go for a second round of food, the server who initially helped us disappeared. We noticed a woman sitting at a table wearing an apron, so I approached her for assistance. Unfortunately, she was rude and snapped at me. She told me I had to wait behind the buffet table to be served, and that they wouldn’t bring the food to our table. This felt unwelcoming and uncomfortable.
The food itself was underwhelming, and considering the high price, it didn’t feel worth it. For the same price or even less, you could get a much better experience at a Chinese buffet with a wider selection and better-tasting food.
Based on our experience, we won’t be returning to this restaurant and wouldn’t recommend...
