Taqueria Atotonilco — Restaurant in San Antonio

My wife and I came in from out of town to take my dad to this location because he wanted to dine here for breakfast on Father's day yesterday. We had the same breakfast plate, huevos rancheros and coffee. My dad ordered a fajita plate to-go for my younger brother. When it came time to leave, my father left a cash tip on the table, and I paid the bill using my debit card. The bill rang up to $27.52 on the register, the lady charged my card, when she handed me the receipt, that's when I noticed I was charged $30 something dollars and .52 cents. It didn't print clear. I asked the lady why was I charged a different amount? She said just sign the bottom of the receipt. I told her I couldn't make out the amount that it looked like $31.52. She then acknowledged it and gave me $4 in cash. I left $0 for the tip, and filled out the total of $31.52 and signed the receipt. When we returned back home, I checked my bank account and saw that I was actually charged $37.52 for this episode. I then looked into the reviews for this location and apparently this happened to someone else. Please be careful and check your amounts before you pay, or simply pay in cash. My father spoke very highly about this place and it left a bad experience...

I was in the neighborhood and found this absolutely amazing place. I have been on this Earth for almost half a century and I have lived in this town for 2/3 of that time. This is, without any debate, one of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to in that time.

It's located on the corner of a neighborhood on the west side of downtown, and if you want to have a taste of what local food is all about, you need to go here.

I keep ordering the number nine, which is the Mexican platter, consists of a crispy taco, two cheese and beef enchiladas, rice, beans, and a little bit of lettuce tomato salad on the same plate. Also included are two tortillas, separate, and the obligatory chips and salsa while you wait. This massive amount of food, and I mean good food, really, really good food only costs $5.99. That's amazing.

I have friends coming in from all over the place looking for the best that San Antonio has to offer, and I bring them here. It's that good. Do yourself a favor and visit this place, your stomach...

Had breakfast tacos and they were ok. Service was not good. We were the first ones to come in out of 3 couples as they just opened and the last ones to be attended. The was tress attitude was not welcoming The cook came out for a moment and greeted us . So that was nice. . I was really hoping that this place was outstanding but sorry to say I was disappointed. I will not return any time sir. I will request to speak to management just to give some feedback so that they may take steps to enhance the service and quality of their food. I wish...
