This property does not provide the Marriott quality of service. We were arriving late into San Antonio and reached out to the property to ensure airport shuttle pickup would be available upon our arrival. We were assured they would pick us up, we just had to call after retrieving our bags to which we complied. We called and were directed to the pickup location. After 15 minutes elapsed, we called again. We were told the driver should be there waiting, he wasn’t. The person on the phone stated we may have missed him and he would ask the driver to return for pickup. We waited another 10 minutes, still nothing. We arranged for an Uber pickup for a ride to the property. Just a side note, travel time is LESS THAN 5 minutes. Upon arrival we found the shuttle bus sitting in the drive. We entered to find a guest being assisted for check-in. The guest appeared to have been there for a while as the auditor attempted to check him in. The auditor apologized for the delay stating the “system was being slow, must be processing something”. Thirty minutes later we finally received a room key. The Marriott app provides a mobile key option to bypass the desk. We tried to utilize that feature but was never issued a mobile key. We asked the auditor about the function and his response was “that function doesn’t always work”. We have used that feature at many Marriott properties on previous occasions. Before leaving the front desk we wanted to make sure the shuttle would be available during the early morning hours. The auditor said it would and assured us it would be waiting for our scheduled departure. After our brief sleep, we showered; however, there was no shampoo or body gel in the pump bottles that weee provided on the shower wall. Those bottles hold approximately 12 ounces of fluid. For them to be completely empty means that they had not been refilled for days. Upon our departure the shuttle was gone, it was not waiting for us as assured by the auditor. We had to schedule an Uber ride to the airport. I called to speak to the General Manager for compensation but he was at a conference and unavailable for a week. I spoke to the front office manager who said there was nothing she could do I terms of compensation and that the GM would return my call upon his return. Read moreFirstly, if you need to smoke Mother Nature’s Medicine do not stay here. I have a Medical card in Maryland due to Muscular Dystrophy and found out that I was not allowed to smoke anything- even outside. However being my children I had a cookie and we enjoyed the stay. The grounds were very tidy and clean - not a single cigarette butt on the ground anywhere.
The customer service is here and there- the kitchen cook was amazingly catering and attentive for dinner-amazing fresh healthy food. The gentleman who checked us in also very attentive and allowed us to get the room without major credit card because it was an Airline mistake versus a chosen stay. (Ps Don’t use Spirit Airlines!)
However we did receive inaccurate information about a “one time use voucher”….apparently it is not one time use but my kids bought $96 worth of snack shop stuff at once due to the inaccurate info. Apparently was told later that we could have added it to our room and used it as needed through the day.
The gym had great options for my daughter, they did have a water leak or something -when you walked into the gym it was a pool of water on the floor dripping from the ceiling both days.
Next we asked for a wake up call and shuttle to the airport and did not receive either. We had to call a Lyft so don’t depend on them to really BE THERE for you. Set your own alarms and all that but even with 3 kids we made it on time.
Lastly, when my son hurt his mouth in the pool — the employee at the front desk immediately drove us to urgent care so for that solid 3 stars. I pray she is blessed forever because she...
