Brought a party of 8 to eat. It was 2 pm on a wednesday type of slow. They dont sit or greet. As such. It seems to be first come, first serve, seat yourself (which is fine). They had two tables set up for 8 in the back. Both had couples at them. (2 people seated at an 8-person setup). The rest of the tables were designed for 4, and a few were occupied.
I took the only available single person table and merged it next to a 4 person table and then borrowed 2 seats from one of the 8 person setups. No big deal. Next thing- a real nice associate (this one should probably be a manager) came and wanted to take the small table for another use,, but upon analyzing the seating situation, went to consult the "manager". The manager came and basically demanded the table back and was about to get into an argument. Luckily, at the same time, one of the couples was leaving from the 8 person setup.
The rest of the staff was excellent. The food was good. But I would recommend to the owner that the "manager" is reprimanded or replaced. Has no clue how to communicate or work through relatively simple situations. I'd give you a name, but the employees don't wear names.
Take a look at my guide history, 2 stars is pretty hard to earn from this guide. You almost have to work harder for a low rating. Sad.
My recommended solution would have been to leave the guests alone instead of having 2 older people and 3 young children move. My other recommendation is to get rid of your trash table. If it's going to be a drama. And lastly, perhaps seat your guests if you're going to issues.
Edit Adjusted to 1 star for the owners snarky response.. I'm gonna guess the owner doesn't bring his 80 year old grandparents out for a bite to eat. "Feel careful for and gentle" gtfoh with that. Appreciate a response but don't like being patronized. Wasn't asking for a whole lot there, just basic common sense, and...
Read moreOn our way back home from Seaworld we were in the mood for a burger, so we came across The Shack in our search, so we thought we'd try it out. The images on Yelp! looked very inviting.
The setup was a little crowded and cramped, with there being only a few steps from the door to the line to order food and there being about 12 tables (some of which had been pushed together to accomodate two tables of eight people, near the back of the restaurant). Also, my first impression was that they are super, super busy or just don't care that they have dirty tables. The place was almost full, with only one four seat table available, but it had not been bussed. We waited a few minutes to see if the two workers walking by would clean it, but I wound up having to clean it for our party of four.
The photos on the wall, in the line, were helpful to get an idea of what some to the specialty items would look like and the menu provided enough information to where we didn't have to guess what was included on our burgers. The staff was on point and the pricing was pretty good for ther size and quality of the burgers.
As you can tell by the photos, the burgers were huge (three of is got burgers...I got a double)! They were also pretty tasty, especailly with them being made with Angus beef. My only gripe is that the meat tasted like it was frozen, prior to being on the grill. Other than that, the veggies seemed fresh and the cheese was melted, perfectly. The Dorinachos (Dorito Nachos with corn, feta cheese, etc. was said to be good, too. We got our...
Read moreMe and my husband are quite loyal to our favorite burger joint but when they were out, we decided to try something new. This place is highly rated and the burgers looked good so we decided to try it. We went at 7 PM. It was a little busy but nothing crazy there was still plenty of open tables. We both got a bacon cheeseburger and we told that mustard, mayo and ketchup come on the burgers I got onion rings and my husband got french fries. We waited 30 minutes for our burgers which was way longer than either of us had expected. I went up to the counter to make sure they did not already call my name because that is just how long it took to get our burgers we couldn’t believe how backed up they were with it not being that busy hence why I took the photo of the line and people in the restaurant. The burger was OK. The bun was nothing to write home about it barely had any mayo on it and it had no mustard no ketchup. The onion rings were lukewarm. I would’ve liked them a little hotter and they tasted good at first but the more I ate them the more they tasted like grease. The french fries were good. They have a dog friendly patio, which is nice and it looks like they have really neat drinks like strawberry and cream and mango bananas and desserts and stuff, but I didn’t partake in that. I don’t think I’d be back to this establishment it’s further away more expensive and the service was not great compared to the place. I...
