We stayed in a 2 queen/pullout suite with a microwave and mini-fridge for 2 nights and 3 days for Memorial Day Weekend, 2022. First off, let me complement Chris, our Front desk clerk (maybe manager?). He was AMAZING and honestly, it was thanks to his hospitality that we stayed although we had some icky strange unwelcome surprises. He is extremely humble, polite, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Chris ROCKS! Great room, very spacious with good amenities but not thoroughly cleaned. The sofa-bed had dirty linens and the beds had mystery stains but Chris was able to provide a clean set of linens for me to change. Loved the mini-fridge but the microwave had old moldy food with maggots ALL over it. Chris was able to find another one for us to exchange for the duration of our stay within 10 minutes. We took the reeking maggot infested one out of the room and brought the clean one in. After that, I personally cleaned the room myself because I could feel the maggots crawling on me… (thankfully, since the pandemic, I always carry cleaning supplies so I was able to clean the surfaces we were going to be using the most.) This hotel is a well loved place with lots of use out of it which shows on the little details on aesthetics but cleanliness is a must. However, besides the room, everything else seemed ok. The indoor pool was great! The hot tub had white foam on it that looked kinda sketchy, but my hubby kept telling me that could be too much chlorine and I chose to believe him. There are clean dry towels in the pool area for our use, which was nice. The hotel also served a breakfast buffet that includes Texas shaped and 4 circle mini waffles, cheese omelette, sausage, pastries, muffins, several cold cereals, yogurt, and bread, etc. The buffet was very clean and well stocked. The dining area was also clean and comfortable. The location was another plus since it was close to SeaWorld as well as restaurants...
Read moreMy adult nieces stayed here from 04/01-04/06 while visiting me. I got to hang out with them at the hotel. Nice rooms, clean, comfortable. We stayed in a 2 queen/pullout suite with a microwave and mini-fridge. Great room. Loved the mini-fridge! Great location to get to Sea World and Lackland. Easy location to get to shopping. And depending on time and traffic the Riverwalk is about 30 minutes away; just hop on the 410 or the 151 to get almost anywhere in San Antonio. Minor Complaint - The location. I am a light sleeper. My adult nieces are average sleepers. On one night, Friday, I could hear freeway traffic. My nieces said they did not hear any traffic on any night and slept well.
The hotel has an indoor pool with hot tub. We used the pool/hot tub several times and really enjoyed it. There are clean dry towels in the pool area so no need to bring down the room towels.
The hotel also serves a breakfast buffet that includes Texas shaped waffles, an egg type dish that changes each day, sausage, pastries, muffins, several cold cereals, yogurt, and bread, etc. The buffet was clean, well stocked. The dining area was also clean and comfortable. ☆I wish I knew her name; the lady in charge of the buffet was kind, friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. She addressed spills and table care quickly and used the appropriate cleaning techniques. The same went for stocking and assisting guests with the food. I saw no cross contamination between cleaning and food service. Minor Complaint - the toaster needs to be replaced/fixed. It burns the bread on one side while never toasting on the other side.
☆☆The real star of this hotel is Chris at the front desk. There were several small things that came up. Chris was not only friendly, kind, and knowledgeable he really went the extra mile. He handled them immediately and never once made my nieces feel like it was an inconvenience. He was incredible to us! Chris...
Read more0 STARS! Terrible hotel! This hotel was booked for a short trip for a softball tournament. Our entire team was to stay at this hotel. We were the first to arrive a day early and instantly the musky smell hits you as you walk thru the doors. The photo of the lobby was misleading. The first room they gave us was 206, we walked in and it smelled like smoke and there was not a functioning toilet. It was taken apart and the pieces was on the bathroom floor. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt we asked for a new room and were given another room on the same floor. It also smelled of smoke and musky air, had half eaten cookies under the bed, hair on the bed sheets and someone else's dirty socks still in the closet but we were trying to hard to be patient so we dropped our things, used the restroom and decided to run to Wal-Mart to grab some room deodorizers. When we returned my husband went to the bathroom and instantly started freaking out. There was poop, SOMEONE ELSES POOP, smeared all over the toilet! The same toilet my 9 year old had already used! Understandably furious he gathered our things while I got online and booked a hotel stay at a clean hotel honest hotel with accurate photos and great reviews. The best thing I can say about this hotel is that the attendant at the desk did refund the charges without argument, it's hard to argue with pictures of poop on a toilet...
Some of our team did unfortunately have to stay in this hotel and also horrible experiences. One family's AC unit stopped working, another family found condom wrappers under the bed and their shower head was not functional.
If you are concerned at all about your health, pass on this hotel. There are other great options for the same...
