We were on our way home from a night out at the casino and wanted to eat something. This Denny's, which we had never visited before was conveniently right off the freeway on our way home. When we went in a young man greeted us very kindly and professionally. He sat us down and in a few minutes, the only waitress on staff came to take our drink order. She was very kind and professional as well. From here I'll jump to our food order. It took a little while, but it was understandable as they were clearly understaffed. Then when my lady tried her salmon, it was extremely salty. She says to me; I don't want to sound picky but this salmon is super salty. So I told her to let the waitress know, which she did. The waitress asked if she wanted another salmon or something different. The waitress said that if she ordered something else or a new salmon, it was going to take about ten minutes. So my lady ended up telling her that it was okay, and that she would just eat it as is. Maybe 3 or four minutes after that was settled, my lady yells out; ugh there's a hair in the salmon. Which to my dismay there was. We told the waitress as soon as we could, she said she would remove the charge for the salmon from our bill. At this point I had eaten half of the sandwich I ordered, but didn't want to take a bite of the rest of it because I was severely grossed out by the hair. So I told the waitress that I would like my entire bill waved because of the hair incident. I kindly told her that she had done a good job on her end, but the whole hair thing just grossed us out so much that we didn't think we should have to pay for any of the food. Especially since most of it was still on our plates. This young lady proceeded to argue with me, saying that what a coincidence it was that first we complain about how salty the salmon was, and not long thereafter we conveniently found a hair in it. Like she was insinuating that we planted the hair in the food. Then she started ranting about how long she's been doing this job and basically saying that she knows that we were trying to pull a fast one on her. Then she said she didn't want to argue about the situation and that if we wanted to get up and leave without paying that was our choice. I tried to reason with her, but she was just being unreasonable at that point. So we did get up, walked out, and headed home.
I'm still reeling from this whole incident. I can't believe that customer service, and most importantly, respect for the consumer had gone so far out the window. This woman said that she's been doing this for 15 years. Well I can tell you that she's learned nothing good from her experiences whatsoever!
In closing: Don't go to this Denny's restaurant.
By the way, the picture with the blue circle around the hair was taken before we started eating. We just didn't notice it until after cutting...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. GO ANYWHERE ELSE! We arrived at 8:22 to a moderately busy (but definitely not The busiest I've seen and several empty booths) restaurant. The hostess (I use that tter loosely, she wss not in uniform and wearing a hoodie) told us it would be "a few minutes" to be seated. 30 minutes later we asked about being seated and without even reasoning to the request she grabbed menus, seated another party, and came back to seat us. We asked for a high chair. 10 minutes latter I walked over and asked again. She had forgotten. Upon checking, they were "out" of high chairs..... until another employee pointed one out at another table that was no longer in use. Without cleaning it off, she brought it over. I asked her yup please wipe it down, so she grabbed a dirty rag from the counter and soaked it but didn't bother drying it. Nice, for nny 8 month old son. The waitress takes our drink order and brings us cold coffee, which she herself points out (rather than not bringing the cold coffee and making a fresh pot, which she eventually does). Coffee comes, no spoon. Another 10 minutes later, she brings a spoon. She takes our order. We're now almost an hour into our experience. At 8:34 the waitress cones back to tell us our food will be out in "a few minutes"..... apparently this woman needs a new catch phrase ot a watch because 20 minutes later food finally starts coming out. 9:55pm the food is hitting the table...... cold. And the waitress tried to hand the 8 month old baby a straw "to pay with"....3 of the 4 of us ordered breakfast for dinner, and the pancakes aren't even remotely warm. And one set of Cinnamon Crunch cakes has little topping on the top cake and none on the bottom two. The fried ordered by the other are also cold. She offers to replace the fries. We basically eat our entire dinner before the replacements cone at10:19. Over 20 minutes for fresh fries. We let her know we need a box and the check. Ast 10:33 we get them, and get the heck out of there. Elapsed time: 1 hour 11 minutes. WORST experience at a Denny's EVER. I drove another mile up the freeway after leaving and saw an IHOP. Next time, I'll stop there instead. With more than half of the restaurant empty (excluding a sleeping person on a booth near the bathroom who appeared to be an employee), the wait time alone was inconceivable. But forgetting every requested item? Cold food after a wait like that? ...
Read moreI came into this Dennys for a nice breakfast and I’m probably going to get sick with the flu or Covid, I’m not exaggerating. This Dennys had a girl working the front coughing up her lungs in there and isn’t even wearing a mask. I’m not taking like a tickle in your throat cough. I’m talking like coughing up the bottom of her lungs onto everything! I feel so disgusting right now because I think I’m going to get sick because of this lady. You could hear her sucking the snorting her mucus filled nose into her throat over and over. She even sat down and laid her head on the counter because she was coughing so much is made her weak. One of the other folks who were just about on their way out even said “hey, are you okay”? This was absolutely unbelievable. Then not wearing gloves, just coughing into her hands and grabbing my food from the cook and being close to me, touching everything that was served to me. I couldn’t even enjoy my food, I lost my appetite from the emotions of disgust and frustration I had with this lady. I left all of my food, I couldn’t eat knowing the fact that I’m probably going to get sick now. She also went behind the counter where the cook is at making the food and was coughing there too!...
